What do you prefer? I like the convenience of just going out into the woods for a few hours on a whim. Never really had the drive to find others to go with. Is it worth it? Seems like a solitary activity to me.
>I go at it alone
People are unreliable. Co-workers & friends always have things coming up. I you go alone, you can just take off whenever you are ready.
>that being said...
I've been in very sketchy places/situations. Where if I'd been hurt my body might not have been found.
>mountain goat bow-hunt steeeep terrain
>ocean kayak big waves
>skinning game in Alaska's highest dencity brown bear.
Lots of praying :/
why the fuck would I invite people into my autistic wilderness excursions? If I die alone and dead it's just natural selection anyways, humans aren't supposed to meddle in such things
Honestly if I could meet people who wouldn't want to smalltalk at all and only communicate when necessary, I'd be open to hiking and exploring with others.
E-especially if it was a blonde female that wears her hair in a braid and loves the land as much as I do...

I prefer pair. Been in too many random accidents.
Solo hiking and backpacking is a completely different experience. I love it. And without having to coordinate with anybody else you can go a lot more often.
When I'm outdoors it is usually to take my dog for a walk, go bird hunting or collect fungi. I prefer all of these things alone, but sometimes my wife comes with me (not much anymore now that we have a baby).
I prefer bird hunting alone, I'm not totally comfortable around people with firearms especially when my dog is there (worried about accidents). It's also just more fun and a nice solitary experience.

Solo.
I prefer to be able to go my own pace, stop when and where I want.
Only time I go out with some one else, is when it's with my wife. Then I ook her in the dooker.

>What do you prefer
Implying it is a choice
I go alone. Everywhere, everything, no one wants to put up with my craziness anymore. Steve said it best, Lonely are the free.

a good hiking partner is hard to come by. lots of people will always try and fill the 'silence' as they think it's awkward and hikes are supposed to be social things. just hike in silence damn

This.
Peace of mind if your partner is competent.
