I tried on a pair of Arctx boots today and there seemed very different than what I am used to.
There was a built in insert that was like a thick sock.
Has anyone tried these things?
They were comfy but wanted to double check before spending that much money.
Not familiar with arcteryx boots, but a lot of winter boots have a removable bootie so you can sleep with it, preventing it from freezing. Older boots also had booties as it was the only way to use goretex at the time, although these days some boots have different booties for different purposes, such as a more insulated one, or one without a membrane.
The boot in the picture looks like it would be the latter, it doesnt really look man enough to be a proper winter boot. Id love to see how the teryx over engineering has adapted the bootie design

Arc'teryx has only recently expanded into boots so they aren't widely available yet. As a result I doubt many people are familiar enough with them to voice an informed opinion.
There's too little innovation in the footwear space. I'm keen to see what Arc'teryx has come up with.

I love their jackets, if I didn't think their designs were great, I wouldn't own four of them. But I think those shoes are a total meme. You want some good solid boots that will last, get some scarpas.
That shit look space as fuck

Had them to hike the Appalachian trail. Not a single problem with them and I found that the sock thing made them pretty quick to dry. Pretty expensive though.
Tiny ass toe box.
Expensive as fuck
hard to find
Arcterx faggot shills still on /out/
They're basically for rich fags with fucked up feet.

>How did the finish hold up
It's a 2000 mile trek, they looked rugged as fuck as would any boots. Leather.
