just sharing some songs, my man

Bluegrass is worlds better than most of the shit people post as /out/ music.
I've been trying to learn Foggy Mountain Breakdown on my banjo for two weeks.
I'm at about 75% speed.
Realistically I should break it into parts and learn it that way but that triggers my autism.

Nice, I'm still learning criple Creek.

This guy gets it. Post some of the stuff you like. I'm looking for new songs

GREAT fucking album. I just got two McReynolds Brothers albums in the mail today. They are the best because every song is a beautiful duet.
I love me some bluegrass music. Check this guy/gal duo out, very talented. Mandolin Orange.

Sir, that is numalegrass, this nomenclature is important.
>>1042688
Yeah but the last few years I've seen too many douchebag poseurs from the college hipster crowd flood in to tell me what's earnest and genuine. It's getting a big dose of unwelcome false authenticity.

Ya big meme

Some of its ok. I like really good picking, not so much vocals. Mom and Dad would drag me to bluegrass gatherings as a kid and I hated it. Most of the music there was garbage IMO. Nowhere near as bad as having to go to folk music festivals with grandad. Those where hell.

Here's one. I drove all the way from fucking Fort Wayne, IN to see these guys in Arkansas once. Of course, it was a festival, and there was a lot of other stuff worth seeing, but for me, they were the main draw. There was a band down there that actually invited me to join after hearing me play (they were looking for a banjo player at the time), but for some dumb reason, I went home after the weekend was over instead.
Been regretting it ever since.

WTF are you talking about?
>>1046010
I buy cds on the internet and they mail them to me? I like to listen to them in my truck and on my walkman.

Bluegrass is cool if it has an ambiental sound to it like the intro to journey of a sorcerer. Pic very much related. Especially their song Gypsy.
Any recommendations to similar sounding bands would be appreciated.
I just don't like the bluegrass that sounds like backwoods appalachian shit. So almost all of it.

Oh god, this is amazing

My favourites on that one are salty dog blues and ole slew foot

It doesn't have the better version of Ballad of Thunder Road, unfortunately. This version doesn't get loud enough in my truck with the windows down flying down a mountain grade.

Yes it's on the Cold Mountain soundtrack but still
>>1050191
Ignore the Cold Mountain bs, Tim Eriksen is the man and the mountain dulcimer is the sweetest of all the Appalachian instruments.
