As a Finn I'd say don't buy Marttiini made after 2005. It's not very good. They even ditched the Sandvik steel and started using chink crap.

From 60's to early 90's made Marttiinis are God-tier puukkos.

Pic related is a relatively rare Marttiini from late 60's / early 70's when they tried a differential hardening with clay, like the japs did with their blades back in the day. That figure in the blade comes from that experiment.

If you want a good Finnish puukko then buy Iisakki Jarvenpaa or something from a boutique maker.

If you want a cheap but outstanding red plastic handled knife then go for carbon Mora. The blue one is stainless.
