There any fishermen here who'd recommend me a small sturdy fishing rod? I live near a creek and would like to start fishing. The fish are tiny about between 3 to 6 inches long

Wow that was hard, definitely worth the thread.

I am an imbecile to have asked :)

Id recommend you use the GOD DAMN CATALOG
3-6 inch fish means you could use a hand line or a stick of wood.
Just go buy the cheapest spinning rod and a nice reel that'll last you and spool it with 4-6lb test.
Ultra light St. Croix panfish series rod

For a creek that small a 1 weight fly rod would be fun and effective. I'd recommend the Sage Little One fly rod, and the Orvis CFO reel. Overall a perfect beginner setup at a low price

literally just get a $20 spinner reel fishing set from wallymart
The rod and reel are the cheapest part of a fishing set, a quality line and lure are what is important. 6lb test is more than enough for fish under 10 inches.

You can handline cod and larger fish.
