Post comfy swimming holes.
This is 150yr old stone culvert under the train tracks. Apparently my friend's grandfather used to go down here with his dad (friend's great grandfather) when he was a kid and he'd crawl through for fun. Heh, olde New England.
If you follow it downstream through the woods it cuts a surprisingly deep canyon (about 10' at most) on its way down to the river. As kids we'd hang around around in there in summer when it was dried-up and concealed by overgrowth, as we got older we started having Test Of Manhood competitions by climbing down into it in the middle of winter and seeing who could sit in the icy rapids the longest without going into a coma or being swept down into the river :3

not my photo, but swimming in this river is my favorite thing to do in the summer
Natural waterslide
I'm not sure it counts but we went on a Stand By Me-esque adventure down the railroad tracks one day and at nightfall we arrived at a gold course on the outskirts of town with big pond next to it. We didn't swim. It was also full of angry beavers slapping their tails at us. We sat on the edge of the cliff and ate.

>tfw literally every lake, pond, and river within a 5 hour drive of me is mud bottom and the color.consistency of chocolate milk year round
>tfw thanks to niggers and trailer trash you ABSOLUTELY do not walk in water without steel-shank, thick rubber/leather boots on due to the prevalence of razor blades, broken beer bottles, and hypodermic needles

Louisiana is just like that too. It's a big reason why I hate being stationed here. It makes fishing and scuba diving nearly impossible.
finding hidden waterfalls and swimming holes has become a big thing for me in the last few months. I'll post a few finds from the past couple weekends.

Idk why this one is so small. Heres another of the same place
Not many secret swimming spots in England but thankfully I live in the most rural part so there are a few places that nobody bothers to go to.
Went here recently, suprisingly large waterfall. Very cold of course. It's next to an RAF base which had a top secret missile programme in the 50s, and is now the only place in the mainland UK where the air force can drop practice bombs.

Anybody in the midalantic willing to share a nice swimming spot? I live in northern Virginia but I regularly drive 3 or 4 hours to go to nice secluded trails so most of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, and some Pennsylvania aren't out of the question.

Clearly if they're a bunch of lures around the area you're not in any secret swimming spot.
I do my best to cleanup lures, not just my own but also pick up others, and typically they bunch up only by the nearest spot by parking

Blue Hole Pond in Kisatchie National Forest. It's nothing compared to any place I've been back when I lived up north, but it's fairly quiet.
It has about 10 feet of visibility, which is the best I've seen in Louisiana.
... But I've also seen alligators and cottonmouths swimming in it.

Was looking to go there pretty soon. How packed full is that place on nice weekends?
My secret little pool in Maine. Made a little dam out of stones to make it a bit deeper. Much skinny dipping has happened here...
