Do you use garden scissors when /out/ ?
>good for self-defense
>especially when aiming for the eyes
>useful for cutting
>compact
why is it blushing

I honestly don't have an idea why
I cut secret trails with them. In this webm I'm hiking the normal trail through the bush then you can see the gravel trail continue on. But I turn and walk into the bush and on to a trail I made that goes elsewhere. So far nobody has found it.

that's awesome
also, gotta ask - what's the altitude of this area in video?
>>1031830
yeah, only when I go foraging for wild asparaguses
>>good for self-defense
>>especially when aiming for the eyes
I don't need "self-defense" tools / weapon here where I live
>>1031849
About 1000 feet, I always used to see this rock off in the distance sticking out so I cut a trail to it and sit on it. I use garden shears and the saw on my leatherman more than anything.
No
I just use my hands if I have to clear brush, or a knife if it's spiked.
>>1031863
People dismiss the leatherman saw, I say it's incredible.
>>1031830
they're called sheers not scissors.
And completely pointless to carry, a knife or axe can do
>good for self-defense
>especially when aiming for the eyes
>useful for cutting
>compact
plus also be used for more than snipping shit.

A pruning shear is a type of scissor. "Gardening scissor" covers a lot of useful tools that could be talked about in this thread.
>>1034111
useful in a garden, not so useful in an outdoors context.
one trick pony tool.

I'm a gardener. Shears are useful as fuck. I'm not the OP.
My go to felco shears can cut cleanly through anything up to 1.5 inches instantly. Makes kindling and light fuel an absolute breeze.
Separating the handles leaves you with a razor sharp knife. They're perfect for grabbing hot things out of the fire, or your wallet from on top of a bull-ant nest.
Cutting rope all the rest. They're not a leatherman but they are not just for delicately snipping roses. They are a robust and useful tool.
>>1031830
I'm tempted to take a cheap set of mini- loppers next time, just for getting through bigger branches.
>>1034119
>I'm a gardener. Shears are useful as fuck.
yes exactly, in a garden.
>>1034143
And backpacks are only useful at school.
>>1034149
which is why I take a hatchet and a rucksack with me camping
>>1034113
>useful in a garden, not so useful in an outdoors context.
Sorry, but I do most of my gardening outdoors, m8.
>>1031852
asparagus apparently grows around my but I've never seen it
>>1034161
Rucksack is just German for backpack, you mong
>>1034283
>being obtuse for comic effect
>not growing indoor hydroponics
>>1034372
congrats on working out different languages can have the same words. But they can also have different meanings. In english there is a difference between a backpack (small, without waist belt, like a book bag) and a rucksack (large, usually with belt and frame)
