And why is it undeniably pic related?
>Light
>Long lasting

Inb4:
>Muh sawyer memefilter lasts 1gorillion gallons

So you have to suck on it and spit out the water if you want to do anything but immediately drink it? I'll stick with my pump.
>>1029603
Nope senpai, you can squeeze the water out. 2.5 L per minute.
>>1029600
>can't use it inline
>can't use it with hard bottles
>""""best""""
nigga you wut
Also what the fuck do you have against Sawyer?
>>1029600
How do you get the water in there to filter it?
This is something I've never understood about the newer bag filtration systems
I've been pumping water for >20 years and there have been many times where the water was difficult to get
Often there is no way to fill a bag with unfiltered water from a tiny trickle between rocks
A hose intake is so much more versatile
Do you bagfags carry an intake hose when you go /out/?
>on week-long tip in 14
>friend brings one of these new non-pumping systems
>friend, "ZOMG it's sooo much better than pumping"
>go to get water, his shit is useless
>we use my pump for the rest of the trip
>>1029632
Which pump system do you have, anon?
>>1029632
Use a plastic zip loc bag as a scoop. Press one side of the opening against the surface where the trickle is. I've filled up from sources that are nearly stagnant and a few mm deep this way
>>1029639
Used to have a Pur, but switched to the Sweetwater, which is better because it pumps on both strokes and is sturdier
I think Pur got bought by Katydyn and Sweetwater was bought by MSR
>>1029632
Use something as a catch or scoop for those little trickles, but 90%+ of water sources are big enough to submerge the bag.

Thanks
I'll look into it
The bag systems are lighter, aren't they?
>Hur dur no sawyer
Yeah go ahead and pay for lesser filters and more expensive then.
>>1029684
...you do realize that Sawyer makes like 4 different filters, right?
And I don't see how an inline, gravity, or a squeeze system is clunky, much less clunkier than a pump.
>false claims
How so? In non-mucky water they last as well as they claim to, it's been independently tested, and they've always outright said lifespan will be reduced in shitty water and recommend a prefilter.
>>1029684
The lifespans aren't accurate, but realistically, no on /out/ will come close to using them that much.
