ALICE or MOLLE, /out/?
neither, because i want my gear to be designed for the function i need it for, and not to live out some operator /k/ommando faggot fantasy

What backpack do you use Anon? Why?
>>1023011
gregory baltoro 75
it's relatively heavy for a backpacking pack (5 lb 5 oz, iirc), but it fits me perfectly, has fantastic pockets, and its suspension kicks ass with heavy loads, which is important for me because i like to carry heavy ass climbing shit into the backcountry of the sierra. i tried it and an osprey xenith on back-to-back, and it wasn't even a contest for me.

I think they have a purpose in hunting/fishing/camping setups but not hiking. But only faggots hike anyways. Going /out/ to me includes a 80qt cooler full of alcohol and at least 4 different types of guns and at least one underage girl.

my Alice was a gift when I was like 8. Still have it, repair it and put new aftermarket stuff. Personally I'm just used to it and know what/how to pack it. I'm sure there are FAR better backpacks out there.

Is it canvas or nylon? Which would be better?
I'm thinking canvas since I believe it's more durable/fixable but I'd like to at least somewhat waterproof everything.
I LOVE my ALICE. its honestly a great pack, the layout and the simplicity of the main compartment basicly just being a great big hole that you can fit anything from 2 jerry cans to child into is fantastic, the hip/length of back of the frame fits me surprisingly well cause im a small dude but having a full steel frame that THICC nowadays is madness for hiking. but that doesnt mean its not fun
