How is it relevant "how many" brands exist? The truth is that this is not a closed set. All an individual has to do to become a tent manufacturer is set up a sewing machine in their garage and have a way to sell their products, perhaps online. On the other hand, a person with enough money can become a tent "brand" by flying over to China, negotiating with a factory and getting them to put his logo on the products they area already making, do some tweaks to the design, and then negotiate a contract with Walmart. Outdoor gear brands come and go all the time. Most of them are responsible for selling absolute shit gear. It's meaningless to keep track of them all.
