>>1020902

>>1020894

>>1020894
Arundel Castle, South Downs, England best castle ever.
>>1020918
Ditto
I stayed the night at this one outside of Kilkenny, Ireland. Was a hostel at the time, not sure if it is anymore
>>1020902
This. Also,
>Once you've seen one castle, you've seen them all.
Trv is full of whiny faggots though
>>1020894
Yep.
>>1021178
>cathedral
>castle
are you, perhaps and dare I say it, american?
>>1021181
I was actually just about to correct myself on that, but I figured nobody would care. Oh well.
>MAH TRUCK IS BIGGUR'N YER TRUCK'N I GOT MOAR GUNS'N YOU YA DANG YEURO-PEEIN.
I'm Canadian by the way.
>>1021186
>but I figured nobody would care.
Never doubt autistic Euros and our love for old, build upon blood, and sturdy looking structures.
>>1021188
I don't blame you, buddy. If we had those in Canada, I'd probably try and take the thing over and prepare to withstand siege.
Not a castle, but a neato fort.
>>1021209
Those outside walls are somewhat familiar with one of my favorite places in my country.
>>1021216
Very cool anon. Where is this?
>>1021247
Valença, northern Portugal. On the other side of the river it's Spain.
It has seen its fair share of battles, both against Spaniards, French and between Portuguese.
Here's my local castle
I have no idea why there's a castle thread in /out/ but here's my contribution
>>1022323
>>1022327
>>1022328
This is actually a walled city but whatever
>>1022335
Last one
The Popes used to live there, it could be called palace instead of castle but it remains a huge fortress
>>1022328
Fucking sweet.
A thread about castles and medieval Europe makes now more sense than ever.
>>1022338
Frogs have the better aesthetic desu.
I've been to several, in England, France, and Italy. I'd have to ask my parents which ones they were, though, the only one I know for sure is the Tower of London.
My home town. So yes.

>>1020902
Seriously, fuck off. This board is slow and travel is out related
>>1022817
you can't go outside without walking past a castle here.
one my favorite local castles, probably one of the few good things about getting out in england
>>1022819
Tower turned into a huge candle for christmas.
My home is my castle, so yes.
t. a man
>>1022349
My (biased) opinion as well, although I think Spain is really underrated as far as castles go
By the way concerning France if you ever come visit us I highly recommend the Dordogne valley and departement in the South-West, it has more than a thousand castles of all kind and hundreds of preserved medieval towns, with god tier food, climate, and is also one of the most forested place in France.
Pic related, the castle of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle which contains an unforgettable museum of medieval warfare inside + The castle and town of Beynac in the foreground only a couple kilometres away, both listed in the most beautiful French villages
>>1022934
I meant in the background*
the closest to me is pretty small, made up of a couple tower and a simple wall pic related
>>1022945
But the whole town is in a comfy location (pic related again) with nice /out/ opportunities nearby (there are lots of river gorges, hiking and climbing, the mountains aren't high but are very rocky and steep and there are fucktons of river)
Sorry about all the posts but it's not like castles threads are the norm on /out/ anyway
>>1021131
All good here, thanks for the worry.
>>1022818
>walking to the store is outside so it is /out/ related
>>1020894
Does chucking bananas at monkey island count?
Looks like sand rocks and concrete.
Probably gonna build one soon.
>>1020903
Agreed. Fuck that faggot
>>1021186
My life. Ina green text.
Dont forget to flip those dodge tow mirrors out anon.
Better spend 500 bucks on a orogrammer so u can blatantly ignore the team of engineers that soent decades building this motor so you can senslessly heave black smoke for 200 miles and blow your shit up or crack a 2,009 head.
Oh, ita just got horrible blowby and knocking? Better put that 6,000 ram on fb and craigalist for 4 years at 600,000 fucking miles.
>>1022848
>my castle.

I'm sorry you Euros destroyed all of your nature, and can only talk about sightseeing, but this shit belongs on /trv/
>>1023065
I'm sorry you New Worlders can't enjoy castles and ruins on your trails
>>1022820
Yes, this was amazing. My parents couldn't afford to go abroad when i was younger so most of our holidays were somewhere by the sea in the UK. The castles were the best parts. When i was i child it was just running around and playing. As i got older and became a teenager i would get these weird history feels. 10/10 would relive again. The nation trust is truly amazing.

A E S T H E T I C
Not a castle but I love this.
>>1023334
My local castle. Certainly not the most impressive but it's fun to look around. Just a shame they padlock it closed for most of the year and only open it on a few specific weekends.
>>1023335
>>1023334
Also have a Don Pelayo, an important Iberian, most specifically Spaniard.

And a bunch of other off topic threads, so I'm fine with a thread about castles as long as it's not a regular thing, it's unrelated but it's not shitposting
burger reporting....yes, windsor castle, edinburgh castle, saw the kremlin (thats kind of castley), versailles (chateauy) and st. peters summer estate....and casa loma in toronto. does that one count?
Castelo dos Mouros in Portugal. What an underrated country.
>>1023399
Are you Portuguese too?/
>>1023406
No, I'm burgerstani. I visited Portugal back in January while on a trip to Spain. I knew very little about the country and had no expectations. But I really liked it and wish I had spent more time there
>>1023627
Nice to see that you liked it here, amigo. Feel free to visit anytime.
>>1020894
yeah, i was in england for work for 2.5 years.
very nice to see a castle, but after you've seen a few the initial awe/charm wears off.
>>1020957
Conwy and Harlech and Caernaforn are great too. Many great castles in Wales.
Since this thread turned out to be sort of a minidump, please allow me to share some pics from my collection.
Sorry to all the haters.

>>1020894

>>1024479
Now this is cool.
