yeah good idea not having cash on you for when you need it hey

the thing is, for most of us, if there were a disaster situation, we'd be in an urban environment, at least for teh short term. Money = barter = food, water and everything else you might not have to hand.

It could be as simple as your car running out of gas, and you save the day becuase of the stashed 60 bucks in your bob.

It's not all, muh survival muh fishing kit, PSKs, chainsaw handsaws, and MREs

I dont think antibiotics should be in a Bug out bag.
Maybe in an inch-bag.
But you have to get really fucked up on the First day of three to have to use antibiotics.
Better get some pvp-iodene Creme / painkillers.

Other than that that looks good.
Maybe a tarp or something for sleeping?
What about light?

What's your plan, germanbro? Leaving to woods up north if shtf? Or moving east?
Maybe you should had something to treat your water, also your sleeping system do not forget that.

But this is Europe, it has a huge population density in most places, if something happen we're pretty much fucked up.
>>
Do you guys have your bob ready at all times? I mean my somewhat bob is mostly my general /out/ gear with some stuff add to it but I don't have it ready to roll.

>>1014799
Living in Schleswig-Holstein already.
Guess if shtf will move quickly to our family garden. We have a boat there for a big lake and then move to an Island for resting there until it Ends.

Have you guys thought about your family when SHTF? What do you do with your grandparents?

anti-biotics are valuable, more of a luxury that i've been keeping with my shit, ibuprofen doesn't do anything for me either so i won't even bother carrying that shit

in the army they taught us to use our ponchos as a tarp and form it into a crude flooring or even a tent, and my sleeping bag has a bug mesh but for snakes i feel it's underwhelming. i'll most likely invest in a single man gore-tex bivvy tent to mount ontop of my bag.

>>1014721

i am probably not going to be happy that i have to legitimately use my 'bugout bag' because that implies things have gone shit real bad. If you are not bringing any sort of recreational material with you then you are going to lose your fucking mind. Taking the edge off is paramount, and now that i think about this i will also bring a can of grizzly winter which i don't have in my bag right at this moment.

Easy, cause all woman do is bitch and moan. Especially on hikes (even short ones in my experience) which is pretty relevant since this is /out/

Now for something completely different: Anybody have any experience with the Maxpedition bags? I'm about to buy my first real tactical/hiking bag. I've been in the army so although I'm gettin my first "real" , hiking is not new for me.

I've narrowed it down to either the Gyrfalcon or the Falcon 3. I don't have enough gear by a long way to fill up the Gyrfalcon and not even the Falcon 3 by a long shot. Should I get the Gyrfalcon and have more room than or (atleast atm) the more suitable gearwise Falcon 3? And getting both is not an option since they are pretty expensive.

I've got one pocket organizer of maxpedition and it is fairly well manufactured.
It is pricey, though.

Cant be sure about maxpedition either, because all prepper/edc'er shill it so damn hard one could be thinking they get paid to do so.
>>
>>1016193
Been thinking the same thing. Although their gear does look pretty good.

I heard some EDC faggot say nothing can beat Maxpedition quality as far as durability and "outside" design goes but on inside organization, there are better brands. Personally I just think 50 million zipper pockets are a waste of space and just makes the bag heavier.

Are there any good, cheap military-style assault packs (I think they're all under like 40L, some a lot less than that)?

There's a couple on Amazon but some of the reviews say they're fantastic and others say the seams come apart above the zip (classic backpack failure mode).

Just want a daypack I don't have to worry about throwing about. I've got a Berghaus bag that's made of Nylon and it feels very fragile, like any twig or bush might tear a hole in the side.

Bonus points for something that would get onto a plane as a minimalist carry on.
>>
>>1008843
Bug out bag? Because you want to be carrying all your stuff when you're trying to evacuate your city? What's your plan if your emergency is that your house burned down? What if war breaks out and the people with full tac bags are the first to get shot by people who didn't think ahead?

I've got six months' worth of food, tackle, clothing and other gear buried in buckets at a lake within walking distance. You know what I need, in order to get there? Nothing but a pair of shoes.

Good luck to you.

>What do you put your stuff in?
5Gal buckets. Cheap, sturdy and waterproof. >How deep?
The lids are only about six inches under the surface, I wanted to make sure that I could dig them up by hand. There not in an area that sees any human or animal foot traffic though, so I haven't seen any breakages in the five years they've been there.
>what kind of food?
Variety of canned stuff, as well as rice and beans, pretty much anything I like to eat normally. If you're not carrying it, it doesn't matter what it weighs.

Also, a fifth or two of vodka, a couple cartons of cigarettes, some weed, and enough food seeds to feed myself indefinitely, should I need to. I actually should add more powerbait, hooks and line, now that I'm thinking about it.
>>
>>1008848

This sounds like a horribly easy way to get robbed, flooded, need something you don't have, or otherwise have your shit stolen and/or destroyed. Good luck though.
>>
>>1022120
Oh, right.. If you're thinking about doing this, there's a couple things you need to know:
1) It's against the law to bury things on private or public land.
2) Disperse your supplies. Don't put all your tackle in one bucket, put a little in each. That way, even if you lose a bucket or two, you've lost a fraction of everything instead of all of something.
3) Don't bury them on river banks, they wash away really easy... Yeah.

>>1022122
And you'd be right, but I don't keep all my powdered eggs in one basket.

>is it a good idea to put a quran in your bob if civil war breaks out? so you can pretend to be a muslim if necessary.
that doesnt mean we would lose, but if your out and a group of muslims comes around the corner?

i had the falcon 2 and after i took it on a few "real" hikes i ditched it. maxpedition is imported overpriced tacticool shit honestly.

if you're looking for a hiking bag, spend the extra money and buy something along the lines of kelty or osprey. actually go into a store and put on bags and walk around with them so youre not stuck with something like the falcon 2 that's an uncomfy piece of shit

To spare you all the microaggression of making a new thread, can I ask here, if a 30 liter dayback is good enough for a week or so in the woods?

I primarily motorcycle camp, where I ride my motorcycle into the forest and camp out where you'd otherwise have to hike.

I can only bring what I can strap to my bike, volume wise, which rules out heavy frame rucksacks like backpackers do. But weight isn't so much of an issue.

I have a 30l daypack I bought just to run errands with around town on said motorcycle, since it had chest and waist straps and few extra straps to flail around in the wind and hit me. I also got a big duffle to carry everything else.

I did this exactly once for two days, (I ran out of beer and had to go back into town) but I want some imput. Is the duffel bag too stupid? IF my bike broke down, I'm definitely not carrying a fucking duffel through the woods, and I go to some remote places. So how reasonable is it to sustain yourself off a 30l daypack, assuming I have a water filter and access to murky ponds or mountain streams, ect?

I see an awful lot of tools, weapons, and other useless shit you guys pack.
Some of you were actually smart enough to include water.
But I noticed hardly anyone packs a fucking bar of soap.
You guys don't realize how important that stuff is.

Why? They have it at the hotel.

>why?
Listen to survival stories of Balkan/Bosnian war victims.
When there was no running water and all the grocery stores were empty, soap was like mana from heaven. It was considered to be more important than food, and very hard to obtain.
Without it. people died from minor cuts and scapes they got due to infection. Personal hygiene is important during shtf.
