Backpack thread general
Please may someone suggest a similar style bag but for a reasonable price? I want this sorta bag for college and when I go /out/. Nothing too tacticool because I don't want to look like a spurg at college

I have that exact bag. It's bretty gud. Are you interested in it or do you want a poorfag version? Because it's basically a nicer copy of several other bags.
>>1007104
I want it, but £100 is step for a backpack when I know there are very similar copies out there. Could you suggest somewhere to get it cheaper or a similar alternative?
>>1007113
I always thought the old German army mountain rucksacks looked very similar. There seem to be various copies and versions so you get a choice of colours and closures and stuff. Suppose you could modify it too if you fancied.

Anon, you just saved me £100. I ordered this bag after doing some research on it. Dirt cheap surplus is brilliant
Is this a good bag for 1-2 night trips? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NBSFDFA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_LWLczbXH7P8NT

You probably don't need all that space unless your stuff is really bulky. Get like a smaller 30-40L for weekend outings. You'll be more comfy.
You need to find out how much space your main shit takes up. Warmth(sleeping bag/quilt and pad)+shelter.
Since you're planning on only using it for 1-2 days you will need a lot less space for food and water.
Recently grabbed a camelbak franconia 24 for day hikes and using on my motorcycle or bicycle. I like it so far, the air vent feels breddy nice and the pack is surprisingly spacious

Jansport Tundra 80L
Sells for $170, bought it new from somebody on craigslist for $20. It's a heavy bag at 6lbs, but it will haul whatever the fuck you want. Nice to have the extra room when I usually take my dog and girlfriend on backpacking trips.

Got that bag.
It looks autistic as fuck and it ain't going to be comfy at all unless it's somewhat stuffed with shit.
And yeah hope you also bought the mat that is supposed to be back support or something.
I have the 5.11 Tactical Rush 12 backpack but it keeps sliding my t-shirt and sweater upwards.
It works fine when I have my jacked on but it's summer time soon and I don't want to have to adjust my clothes every 10 seconds.
What are some good "smaller" backpacks for just everyday use? I've been eyeing the Arc Teryx Blade 6
Thanks

No worries dudebro.

I've got an Osprey Escape 25 for day hikes that I love. Good shoulder straps, serious hip belt, hydration compatible, and good venting.
Rate my 30€ purchase /out/.
(absolutely new and with all the accessories)

ALICE? Fuck that canvas lightning-attracting shit
>>1007099
I had one of those. The brand is MFH and cost €20 a couple of years ago.
Mad out of canvas and a PVC bottom/ lining.
Its held up very well.
w2c decent packs for decent prices in aus
all our surplus is ridiculously expensive still

redpill me on kelty
are they cheap because they're shit?
>>1009827
Kelty is the PBR of packs. It'll get you where you need to go and you can do a lot worse but an upgrade is noticeable. 100% acceptable as a newcomer who isn't sure they'll like the outdoors. If you know your interest then save up for something better or buy second hand.

>>1007314
How do you fit your dog and girlfriend in there with all your other gear?
>>1010579
Mah nigga, I've got the same thing in blue, used to be my dad's as well

>Nothing too tacticool because I don't want to look like a spurg at college
so you'd rather look like a tryhard hipster poser instead?
for clarity i'm not suggesting getting some molle-alice-mallninja faggoty instead, but just get a normal goddamn backpack.

i used this bag (Burton Shred Scout) when i was in school and still use it today for day day trips.
its got pretty much everything you need for school - plnty of space, good pockets, laptop section, padded straps.
and does solid work while out. since its got two cooler pockets, waist strapes, attached water PROOF pullout cover (its water resistant on its own), and the snowboard holder is great for carrying a sleep bag or tent.
plus its burton so if a zipper breaks or something they will just mail you a better one.
Just got a Mystery Ranch/Camelbak Crewcab in. Very excited to try it out once I've finished cleaning it.
