Lets be honest guys, this is a way more efficient and safet way to carry your gear.
A rucksack is all in one spot. Just consider gravity for just a moment.
This is going to be the future of hiking.
Might as well get used to it now.

Didnt we had identical thread a week ago? OP is a homosexual.
this copy pasta is getting kinda stale
in all seriousness though, wouldn't this be better purely from a weight distribution perspective? If you put bulky but light stuff on your back, and smaller but heavier stuff on a chest rig, your weight would be centered instead of all on your back. More and more backpack manufacturers are incorporating pockets into shoulder straps anyway

No. It sucks. In Afghanistan, we would carry very heavy rucksack (up to 90 lbs with ammo and comms gear) with plate carriers and a front load with our essential fighting load. I would want the weight on my back more where it just feels like your meant to bear a load. I was never ed worried about falling back because I'd just bump my butt and my ruck would take the brunt of the impact. If the weight up front caused my to fall it's all knees, hands, and face with a ruck following to sucker punch your face further into the moon-dust covered rocks.
It sounds 100% logical, but it isn't biomechanically advantagous.
Sorry for spelling, on my phone.

>implying fanny packs arent the ultimate weight distribution
People get fat on their bellies and not on their back for a reason. Its easier to carry at that spot.
