Nice thanks. Now to the important question. He thinks it might be a peach... but can it germinate in a cold garage on it own during winter? o.O

It already has.
But you would be much better off asking about it in the /homegrowmen/ general here on /out/.

Hey anon, if you're in North America, go by this rule. That thing has opposite arrangement, that is, the leaves come out two at one point instead of alternating. That means it has to be a maple, ash, dogwood, catalpa, viburnum or horse chestnut. Based on those simple leaves, it's either a dogwood (Cornus spp) or a viburnum (Caprifoliaceae). Keep in mind these only apply if it's a native plant. I can't think of too many more ways to id without further inspection.
I'm pretty sure they make meth from that.

That's a heinous Welsh squash. It'll make you sick.
That's a rare strain of Mexican Dirtnap weed.
Only drug kingpen are able to get a hold of them because the seeds are so valuable that people have died trying to protect them.
I would be careful around that plant. I'm sure even being in the same room as a sapling will get you high.

If that is the case. It would explain a lot about my fathers behavior
