There is a season for hunting and not for traping and also your trap is guaranteed not to work

Hello fellow VAnon! Historic Triangle here.
>How safe is it to trap and eat rabbits in Virginia right now?
Safe enough if you don't eat an obviously sick rabbit, and you thoroughly cook the meat to 160+ degrees throughout. Don't eat the offal, and be mindful of cross contamination between cooked and raw contact.
This all said, as >>1006117 mentions, there is a season, and its not picked arbitrarily. Mid to late autumn is the ideal time to harvest wild rabbit due to the meat-to-fat ratio, as they thicken up for winter. Summer rabbit is lean and tasteless.

Just use a snare or a slingshot. Don't be a retard.
