Tea or Coffee?
>>1005674
Both
Tea in the morning and coffee in the afternoon.
I'm a bit biased towards coffee since I've been a daily drinker since I was 8 or so, but I think it's a much better drink than tea. Drink it in the morning afternoon or evening. It's great.
Coffee for sure
When I used to eat sugar, I'd have tea with milk and sugar during the day, and strong black coffee with sugar at night.
Now that I avoid all sugars, I drink coffee with butter instead of sugar.
Tea with butter tastes like shit.
>>1005686
Try Chai then, black tea, spices, milk.
>>1005674
Tea & herbal infusions all day every day.
Coffee on Sundays and whenever I got laid.
>>1005674
Coffee every day, any time, any situation - I love my bean juice.
Only drink tea when it's either exceptionally cold outside or I'm trying to get /comfy/ as fuck.
>>1005674
Cup of coffee after waking up, tea any time after that.
>>1005702
i drink tea when sick
i drink coffee when i need to crank up the gears
Coffee, with a splash of whole milk. Received the percolating kind as a gift a while ago and took it out car camping recently. Quirky, probably ridiculous, little thing. I like how the grounds and water can be put inside the night before, ready for boiling the next morning. The cone drip method is slow and sometimes the filters get a little clogged, but will do. Instant coffee, black, in hot water is by far the most practical, but I like to afford myself some creature comforts.
I drink my coffee with,
Brown Cane Sugar/Turbinado (1.5TB)
PHS (a few powdered dashes)
Ceylon Cinnamon (1/4tsp)
Butter (1/2TB)
Cocoa (1/4tsp)
That's for a 2cup(16oz) mug. I add the ingredients to the mug then fill it half way with coffee, stir until the butter is melted then fill it the rest of the way with coffee. I grind my own PHS block and Ceylon Cinnamon sticks to a fine powder in a big granite mortar and pestle.
I have that 2 times a week max and one mug keeps me going for 2 days. It took me a few years to get the flavor profile just right as well as get the results for what it does to your body just right. I can drink just a mug of that at 7pm and not need breakfast or lunch until a bout 2pm.
coffee
Tea, I drink Lapsang suchong, fine Darjeelings, malty Assams, fine Olong and good Jasmins. Sometimes Genmaicha for breakfast with a pinch of Matcha. Sencha only sometimes.
I buy only broken tea and good quality.
You can prepare tea with only a simple vessel and if you got good water and correct temp it will be just perfect.
Also, lighter to carry.
tea with milk and sugar.
I just discovered some company that puts good coffee in glorified tea bags. I was skeptical at first, but it's pretty bag good! Easy to brew, tasty, and gets you fired up!

Both, without cream or sweetener.
>Tea/coffee is always HOT due to no cold creamers being added
>Never have your tea or coffee made wrong. Who in their right mind can screw up "plain tea/coffee, nothing in it"?
>Never "crash" - most energy crashes after drinking tea or coffee are from the sugar, not the caffeine
>Never have to worry about spills - it's just flavored water! No sticky mess left over from cream or sweetener! (note: still have to be wary of stains, though...no matter how you take your tea/coffee)
>Never miss cream or sugar when it's not available
>Easily add a shot or two of your favorite booze
I never took cream or sweetener in my green tea, but I used to take a lot of sugar in my coffee. Then, one day, a co-worker told me to try it black for 10 days and bet that I couldn't go back after that. He was right - black coffee ever since. Do you, your body, and your psyche a favor - switch to black coffee and plain tea today!

No but in actuality I prefer tea in general, since that's what I grew up drinking. I personally don't really like coffee as much as when I was a college student, so the only time I really drink it now is if I'm going out with a friend or something.
I generally prefer green tea, so usually I'll drink genmaicha or sencha in the morning, and either hojicha or kukicha in the evening, as those are lower in caffeine. I sometimes make tea from foraged plants, but generally I don't like them as much as actual tea leaves.
I take caffeine pills and drink chocolate milk

Life long coffee drinker, but I'm going to say Tea. I don't really need the energy boost, and drinking green tea makes me feel a little healthier, so I'm going to explore that.
It is a weird switch though, tea's got like a weird was about it. It's not water, buts it's water-y enough that it's almost not anything else, either
Who here heart attack at 30?
>>1005674
Tea for sure. It has enough caffeine to make you alert, but not too much to where you would be jittery. Plus despite its caffeine content, tea is still hydrating. Cant say the same for coffee.

>>1008039
They're like 40 dollars sometimes though - is that normally the price?
>>1008040
Yes, it is handcrafted and made by Euros, it is expensive. 40-45 for a plain one, 75-100 for some antler and 130+ for prime burl.
It'll serve you decades, for every type of beverage, it will keep cold things cold and hot things hot and you'll never burn your lips.

Birch burl is expensive, like you need slow growing arctic birches, only some of them develop burl wood, then you cut down the whole tree, but it only yields enough good burl for 2-3 cups.

Nah, it's really popular in some areas... for people who can have milk products at least.
T_T I can't.
Coffee with soy or almond milk all the time.
Except when my hipster brother is around, then he makes the stuff and it's usually tea... but tea's okay if it's handed to you.
>>1008209
>soy
Enjoy your bitch tits, lack of test, and suicidal/depressive thoughts
>>1008227
I'll enjoy not dying... And keep drinking soy milk.
Also, why do I need testosterone? It's a vile hormone that is useless to me in any sufficient quantity.
>>1008229
1. High Phytic Acid (Phytates): Reduces assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc. Phytic acid in soy is not neutralized by ordinary preparation methods such as soaking, sprouting and long, slow cooking, but only with long fermentation. High-phytate diets have caused growth problems in children.
2. Trypsin inhibitors: Interferes with protein digestion and may cause pancreatic disorders. In test animals, trypsin inhibitors in soy caused stunted growth.
3. Goitrogens: Potent agents that block your synthesis of thyroid hormones and can cause hypothyroidism and thyroid cancer. In infants, consumption of soy formula has been linked with autoimmune thyroid disease. Goitrogens interfere with iodine metabolism.
4. Phytoestrogens/Isoflavones: Plant compounds resembling human estrogen can block your normal estrogen and disrupt endocrine function, cause infertility, and increase your risk for breast cancer.
5. Hemagglutinin: A clot-promoting substance that causes your red blood cells to clump, making them unable to properly absorb and distribute oxygen to your tissues.
6. Synthetic Vitamin D: Soy foods increase your body’s vitamin D requirement, which is why companies add synthetic vitamin D2 to soymilk (a toxic form of vitamin D).
7. Vitamin B12: Soy contains a compound resembling vitamin B12 that cannot be used by your body, so soy foods can actually contribute to B12 deficiency, especially among vegans.
8. Protein Denaturing: Fragile proteins are denatured during high temperature processing to make soy protein isolate and textured vegetable protein (TVP). Chemical processing of soy protein results in the formation of toxic lysinoalanine and highly carcinogenic nitrosamines.
>>1008229
Drinking just two glasses of soymilk daily provides enough of these compounds to alter a woman’s menstrual cycle. But if you feed soy to your infant or child, these effects are magnified a thousand-fold. Infants fed soy formula may have up to 20,000 times more estrogen circulating through their bodies as those fed other formulas.
In fact, infants fed soy formula take in an estimated five birth control pills’ worth of estrogen every day.
Soy is literally poison that wasn't used for human consumption for hundreds of years, until (((((They))))
>>1008229
Dr. Kaayla Daniel, author of The Whole Soy Story, points out thousands of studies linking soy to malnutrition, digestive distress, immune-system breakdown, thyroid dysfunction, cognitive decline, reproductive disorders and infertility—even cancer and heart disease. Here is just a sampling of the health effects that have been linked to soy consumption:
Breast cancer
Brain damage
Infant abnormalities
Thyroid disorders
Kidney stones
Immune system impairment
Severe, potentially fatal food allergies
Impaired fertility
Danger during pregnancy and nursing
>>1008232
Basically all bullshit. Drinking soy milk with my breakfast or having it in cereal every few days is not going to cause any of that shit.
Neither will putting ~2 fl. oz. in my coffee every day, twice a day.
I mean, if I drank 2 gallons of soy milk each day... bad shit might go down. (Probably literal shits.)
Also, who buys soy milk with added garbage? Pleb.
>>1008233
No, you don't get 5 birth control pills' worth of estrogen by drinking 16 oz of soy milk a day.
Ingesting estrogen does basically nothing. Trust me, they've fucking tried.
No knowledge of soy being good or bad for babies. I don't have one of those shits. Don't plan to.
Soy beans are perfectly fine when prepared correctly.
>>1008236
Breast cancer - Already reduced risk, I'm a guy.
Brain damage - Seems fine so far.
Infant abnormalities - Not applicable. I'm not pregnant nor can I become pregnant... and fuck kids they make too much noise.
Thyroid disorders - Seems fine. Not fat or anything.
Kidney stones - Nope, none so far after years of consuming soy products.
Immune system impairment - Nope, in fact I seem to be better off most of the time than people around me drinking milk.
Severe, potentially fatal food allergies - Umm... no? It substitutes for actual milk because THAT will kill me.
Impaired fertility - So? *does a dance* I spend good money on not getting anyone pregnant. If this is by chance helping, which it probably isn't... great!
Danger during pregnancy and nursing - Not applicable. (Guy, not pregnant, not having kids.)
>>1008269

No you cant make "tea" from pine leaves. You can make a warm drinkable infusion of pine needles and water. This however is not tea.
To be "tea" the infusion must contain -at minimum- a small portion of leaves of the camellia sensis plant aka - tea leaves. Pine needles, yerba mate, mint leaves etc. do not come from camellia sensis and therefore cannot be considered tea no more than coffee or hot chocolate can. Retards often call any leafy plant steeped in water 'tea' but this is incorrect and should be avoided. Less you want to be associated with retards.

The coffee + butter meme comes from bullet-proof coffee, pretty much you use grassfed unsalted butter + MCT oil or coconut oil + coffee, blend it together and it makes a bit of a coffee shake... I've actually just started trying it out to see how it goes, I've had a hippie friend that did it for years and swore by it. I don't know all the science behind it, a lot of it is psuedo-science, but essentially you're getting a lot of nutrients from the butter + MCT oil that make the coffee have less of a crash and supposedly give you a clearer, longer lasting energy.
I've only tried it for two days, and it's been interesting. It really worked one day, not so much the second but the brew I made was much weaker. It does not taste like coffee, more like... Well, butter. I've been using Ghee in my and it's not *bad*, just really weird. I wouldn't recommend it if you're only wanting a tasty brew in the morning, it leaves a very strange, oily feeling in your mouth. I still prefer coffee but it feels like a nice weekend treat, like a wacky breakfast.

Percolator coffee makes the best tasting cup, in my opinion. French press coffee is right up there too, and makes some more sense for hiking or backpacking. Drip coffee is mediocre, instant is poor, and K-cups are worst tasting (and also irrelevant to an /out/ coffee discussion).
I usually pack some instant coffee, but would consider a French press if I could find the right one.

Supposedly the science is your body more readily absorbs caffeine when fat is present.
So like, it works, but so does using cream or whole milk like a normal person.
>>1013013
Yes, caffeine is fat-soluble, which per se remains in the organism longer than water-based things, further increasing bio-availability.
Using just oil or butter may be easier than having to mess around with milk and its problems (cooling?) when being /out/ for longer. The taste is a different matter though.

>>1009562
For coffee I generally just do it cowboy style, you just add around a tablespoon of ground coffee to your mug and pour boiling water over it, you have to let it sit for a while so that the grounds settle to the bottom, but past that you just drink it gently and throw out the last bit.
I find a finer grind ,(think almost to espresso), works best as it has fewer air pockets and settles faster, you also generally should use less coffee than you would with a normal drip machine since the beans get somewhat more extracted.
>>1013868
try turkish coffee then, extra finely ground, traditionally you put cold water and the coffee powder into a copper or steel vessel (cezve) and bring it slowly to a boil.

I do this. But coffee doesn't do shit to me anymore. If anything it makes it easier to get to bed if I drink coffee like an hour before bed and then get that caffeine crash as I'm laying down.

What if I like all of those things but tea the most?

I drink coffee because I like the taste of coffee not the taste of slightly bitter milk and sugar
I drink coffee every day in the morning since i was a kid. Nowadays my stomach is not getting along with it in the morning, so i changed it for whole leaf green tea. Coffe just after luch (to feed my addiction)

Tecnically, tea is made with just the leafs of the tea plant (camellia sinensis). Everything else are herb infusions

do you even like anything that's not sugary?
Jeez man, that's the point of some vices; that they have difficult character. If one wants a purely pleasant drink that will only cause sweet sensations, he can choose a strawberry cocktail, but it's whisky that has the soul.
tea or herbal infusion is best for hydration, also, purifies water reliably.

Fixed it for all of you heathens!

Yes, because after a hard day walking with lots of bad weather, when you are really tired and cold, then a sip of ice cold water will make the difference.

>>1005680
This.
Coffee in the morning to wake up, tea to stay awake in the afternoon.
Not in the summer tho. I like my tea hot and I'm not masochistic enough to drink hot tea in 35°C.

Not heartattackanon but I have ordered from them a few times and really enjoy it. The caffeine is strong, but the taste isn't harsh at all and actually really good.

Haven't consumed while /out/ but I do enjoy and occasional cup of cold kava kava. If I have kratom I just toss n wash or cap it up though, the tea didn't give the effects I like about kratom
water

Not only is tea much easier to make while out since in the worst case you can just pour boiling water over the tea leaves, but it tastes far better as well. The only people who opt for coffee while /out/ are caffeine addicts.

To get the real benefit out of butter coffee, you need to be on a ketogenic diet.

Coffee in the morning, for that planned dump. Always gets me moving.
