I used to like Joe Robinet. His older videos were great /comfy/ material, with his multi-day canoe trips across remote lakes in Canada.

Something's changed though. I dunno if the fame got to his head or what, but I watched one of his videos a couple weeks ago and it was absolute garbage. He made this shelter on public land, and someone else used it and added a few things. Joe responded like an absolute child, whining and complaining for over 10 minutes of a 45 minute video about it, while degrading the guy and calling him stupid for not knowing everything that he knows.

I could understand being upset if it was on private land, but it's fucking public land. Anyone can do as they wish with it, that's the whole point.

Plus he's pushing the neoliberal faggot hipster persona a little too hard IMO, with the gauge earrings, shitty tattoos, and craft beers he likes to show off. It's a shame because I like his stuff from 2-3 years ago.

It's an english guy sometimes joined by his dad. It's not strictly bushcraft but there's a pretty good bushcraft series. They also have good videos on fishing (as well as an entirely seperate fishing channel), shooting (faggy pellet guns because UK), and survival tips.

Joe is cool, dude. Yeah that particular video was kinda off but he explained later and he had a point, people get butt lasted over literally nothing.

He does mostly trip videos which is great, even if he lately has started to shill a bit too much for my taste it's normal because he's reaching 300k subs and more companies want to plug in. YouTube is now is full time job.

About his pierced ears he already said it was teenage stupidity and regrets it. The tattoos are just cool, but for each their own.

And seems like he has some sweet trips planned so all cool. I'm on Joe's train before he even had 30k subs and even if some things changed, I have to say that his persona stayed the same.
