Would you park beside the random bike (blue) in a parking lot to save space?
>>

no why would I care about saving space

because the parking lot was super full.

Was looking at a TW200 as my first bike, but went another way. Very glad I didn't. Even a 250 is too slow for regular highway usage around here. That said, I'm looking to buy about 10 acres out of town here in a few years, at which point I will be getting one.

They look too big and clunky for the style. Adding a single speedo/tach or two smaller chrome ones (without the link in between) would do wonders.

Basically. Café racers have clubman bars (yours) or clip-ons and usually a seat for only the rider. Scramblers are easier to handle because of the "off-road" bars.

To be honest (and nitpicky), here's what I think your bike needs:

-New seat, with more attention to detail. Backside and underside look not tight enough, and thus, sloppy. Pic related is a good, but extreme example.

- The triangular grill under the seat is not attached properly. Ditch it or fix it.

- Taillight should be different. LEDs are fine, but they can be integrated very elegantly into the seat/rear hoop.

- Shorten the front fender. Maybe paint it green to match body.

- Make a little back fender with the remainder of the front one. Don't use your license plate as a fender.

- Gauges need to go.

- Polish exhausts

I don't know about the legal requirements, but you don't seem to have blinkers? Blinkers are good and there are many low-profile ones available.

Overall, I really like it, but there's still work to do.
>>
>>17879009
Honestly no idea at this point. Goal is 50k to get land and seed a construction loan. Land around here varies anywhere for 9k for 12 acres right off the interstate (but unincorporated), to as high as you want to go. Goal is 10 (or more if the price is right) that can still get high-speed internet. I work from home, so I give zero-fucks about commute distance.

Got really pissed at myself and was attacked by mosquitoes the entire fucking time I worked. Threw a few things. I put the handlebars into alignment but the steering stop got gashed, fuel tank got a 1cm dent. Otherwise the bike is fine and I rode it around to pick up a case of beer to down tonight (I rarely drink).
It really pains me to see my baby get banged up, this bike hasn't let me down ever. Gotta learn somewhere. I can't wait to have a garage to work in with proper stands and tire changing tools.

You know how on a chilly day or night, say in the 50's F, a temp that would normally merit maybe just a long sleeve shirt, it gets pretty damn chilly at any decent speed? At 30 or below, you seriously run the risk of frostbite or hypothermia if you don't have the right/good gear.

cafe racers were just regular bikes with a bunch of weight stripped off, supersports are built entirely to go fast, sometimes adding weight to go faster.

In about a year I want to upgrade from my SV650. I'm not sure I want a literbike though, I honestly have no idea. I know supersports aren't comfy, but are they that bad for commuting 20-30 minutes on? What about longer rides? I've ridden my SV for like 10 or 11 hours before and it wasn't that bad.

I was considering a Gixxer 750 because I don't want a 600 and I'm not sure I can ride a 1000 and keep my license.

Anyone have advice or want to tell me I'm a faggot or whatever?

If your legs and abs burn you did it right. I hope you don't have carpal tunnel.
>GSXR750
It's just the 600 with a bored out engine. And it's "about" as fast the 1000 anyways. No reason to get it except to save on insurance.

If you're concerned about comfort. look for early model sportbikes. Pre-05 is usually a little comfier.

This Tuesday when I passed my exam for the unrestricted license.
Even without it, I do them every couple weeks along with evasion manoeuvres when the roads are clear and walking pace balance when I'm in traffic. Should conefag more though.
No more riding for a while however, bike is in need of fixing. Weekend is wrenching time with dad.

>>
>>17881009
Get a proper bike
Adjust your suspension and tyre pressure
Don't take whales for a ride

Your bike should just accelerate a bit slower, but not much. Girls weight 70kg or less, they barely impact anything.
>>
>>17881035
If your leathers are already tight, somewhat.

Very comforting, though, so long as you don't try walking through a mall with one.
>>
>>17881067
Does it help with posture on the bike a bit. If i'm sitting on it for a long time I tend to unconsciously sag like a sack of potatoes. Whichh strains the lower back .

Feels reassuring. The shoulder straps sometimes get uncomfortable when they're twisted or bunched up. I only wear my one-piece on the track, but when I do, I wear it all day. Take off the back protector and let the torso portion hang down my waist when just walking around though so I can air out a bit.
>>
>>17881035
max comfy.also if your suit has a hump the air flows through it.
>>
>>17881071
Use your core. Try this: Go for a day ride. And I mean dedicate an entire day to riding, with just short breaks for drinking / pissing / fueling up in between. Ride 8 hours or more. Repeat for 3 days. Just spend the day on your bike and pay attention to your posture. Don't go too fast so you have the attention to spare.
>>
>>17881071
I have the same issue.
>>
>>17881155
What does it mean "use your core" ? Does it mean you have to consciously use your
lumbar to keep your back steady?
>>
>>17881170
At first, yes. It becomes automatic if you do it often enough. Going for a trip and doing it a lot helps with it.
>>
have any of you ever ridden or had experience with a yamaha fz750? I'm interested in getting one because of both their looks and their engine design.
>>
>>17881171
Okay. Thanks for the advice.
Having a steady back looks more difficult than having the legs "gripping" the fuel tank.
>>
>>17881227
Your core should automatically be activated if you squeeze your legs. I don't know, I haven't had to consciously do it in a while. Just pay attention to your posture, the rest comes on its own.
Lifting would help, especially if you sit at a desk all day like me -- absolute poison for all muscles, including the core.

Get the appropriate Haynes manual for your bike. I doubt it's a fuse (headlight isn't on its own subcircuit, other things wouldn't be working either if it was this). Most likely just a burnt filament or a disconnected cable somewhere, possibly inside the headlight housing. Should be an easy fix.

I generally don't share space with strangers unless there's absolutely no parking and they've left a good amount of room.

26 years on a bike mang.
Ive had fun on just about everything.
All i was saying is, it is fun to rip gears on a light bike.
Its fun to ride a high HP bike on track.
Didnt say you couldnt have fun. Liters just arent as amazing as people make them out to be on the street.
So act mature please and stop being mad about my opinion.
>>
>>17881857
Are you that same idiot from last night who thinks cafe racers are comfy, captain "26 years of experience"? You need to stop being so stupid anon, or get a trip so we can filter you.
>>
>>17881865
Tell me how a cafe isn't comfy.
Wide soft seat. Leaned forward just like a sport bike.
You realize comfy is subjective right?
>>
>>17881853
honestly I was just listing off sport touring bikes that are still made. I've never ridden any of them, but based on their specs the 1400GTR and the bandit 1250 seem the most appealing because of their low end torque.

that's not comfy.
>>
>>17881829
I just looked up all of these and except the Bandit they're all really hard to find here compared to regular liters and a lot more expensive. Think I'll stick with the list I compiled earlier.
Bandit 1250
FZ1
CBF1000

>>17881877
Typical of /dbt/, not like anyone here actually rides.
>>
>>17881881
I've built many cafe bikes.
I DD'd a CB650 with a fiberglass seat for years.
Seriously man. Go ride one. And not one some kid built in his back yard with ebay parts.

None of you public transportation users noticed the bars are actually normal bars turned round?
>>
>>17882180
Yes and no.
Clubman bars are meant to be the way they are pictured.
Technically you can take some regular bars and run them backward for the same effect. But they are never quite right.

haven't seen that design of front end before, I'm guessing it doesn't work very well...

It's just a girder front end with the spring turned sideways for the aesthetic, I doubt it works any worse than any other girder front end.
