Does anyone think that the recent push for fingerprint scanner for unlocking your phone means that cars will also adopt a fingerprint or iris scanner instead of a pushbutton or a key start?

They already adopted unlocking by phone
Which is unlocked by fingerprint or iris scanner
I dont see why they couldnt do it to unlock but i souldnt want it for start
It makes sense though. A thief would have a hard time getting your exact fingerprint to unlock the car. The only problem is if you have some condition where you don't have a fingerprint, but those are not so common, so car makers could just offer the regular version.

As long as it doesn't send my fingerprint to some CIA database somewhere so they can replicate it and frame me for a murder of one of Clinton's aides.

you do know car manufacturers are close knitted with cia nsa and whatever else because meme warfare is real

They might, but I don't like the idea of biometrics in general. The ultimate goal is a global person tracking system like minority report.

This. "But it's just to unlock your car, tinfoiler." Yeah, for now.
I don't want any unnecessary electronics on cars because I don't want them to be hackable. Also more things that can fail.

Excuse me grandpa but every iphone from now on will not include a fingerprint scanner.
Get with the time faggit. Its facial recog time.

Just wait until the CIA need another biometric data. They already have fingerprints. Now face scan is needed. Im not sure what the next thing will be, but im sure facial recognition will not be the next mainstay for unlocking your phone.

voice unlock that makes you say a specific set of phrases over several unlocks that highlight certain pronunciations and nuances to make it easier to synthesize your voice
built in blood sugar style detector for dna unlock
built in Fleshlight for sperm recognition for unlock
dumb
the "key" should be paired to the vehicle not the driver
also many vehicles have multiple drivers so you'd have add new fingerprints each time or have a valet mode which defeats the biometrics anyway

>Or just have a key unlock option like every car with keyless entry
