Condensation happens when humidity is high and the glass surface is coated with oils from either atmospheric pollution or air fresheners. Use a paper towel and glass cleaner to wipe the interior windshield and rearview mirror clean. The follow up by wiping with a microfiber towel. Wash your hands with soap and water before cleaning the glass or handling microfiber towels. Otherwise, your greasy hands cross contaminate the wipers.

You may have noticed a similar fogging effect in the prior winter. On a clean windshield, if there is a oily fingerprint, the condensation fog happens on the fingerprint first. That's why a clean windshield doesn't fog up so soon as it takes a higher level of moisture before it begins to fog up.
