Talk me out of '90s 4Funner
spontaneous cv joint failure
there
>>17872991
Tiny interior, shit mpg, expensive tires
>>17873056
>>17873060
How about a '90s Rodeo then?
Get the one that has the party mode button
>>17873056
That's not CV joint failure...
>>17872991
Get a Suburban. Better value for a cleaner lower mileage vehicle. There's literally no reason to ever buy a Toyota SUV over a Suburban.

>Toyota cucks confirmed for form>function babbys
Makes sense now.

Owner of one here, they probably are more reliable than the 4runner but, they will nickel and dime you to death as in any old car. The 3.2's are known to always have a lifter tick due to a TSB that came too late for the oil viscosity being too thin. Avoid the automatic transmission ones as they are very prone to expensive failure without warning. otherwise, a very good car you just need to look after it well. Look up common problems like any other car before buying one. P.s every junkyard has at least 10 of them so parts are easy to come by.

As long as it's not a 1996 year model to 2002, then ur fine.
>>17872991
Poor fuel economy, front end issues, lacks power, lots of emission junk under the hood, but very reliable and overall very capable. I owned a '94 and now own a 2015. Haven't changed much. Really only recommend 4 wheel drive

>shit mpg

>expensive tires

owner of a 90s trooper here (the trooper and rodeo are nearly the same under the hood) and I say do it.
get a manual 3.2 (gas, avoid the diesel version it had more issues). It'll last your forever if you take care of it
>>17872991
why buy yota when u can have XJ?
>>17874012
>avoid the diesel version it had more issues
Unless you're talking about that HEUI 4JX1 abortion that came out in 2000, bullshit. The old mechanical push rod 4JG2 will out travel the gas V6 isuzus ten times over.
>>17874051
Because when the XJ inevitably gets bogged, some people like to have functional opening doors.
