Is this a good buy? I have a courier job and one of the Prius I drive has 500k miles on it. Do I need to replace the battery? This has 300k miles.

Bump, anyone know about used hybrids?
Any advice? I'm really looking into this possibly $1800 Prius lol
Nvm, just read on Toyota forums that batteries degrade with time. They usually fail at 15 years and I don't think they go past 17. Mileage doesn't matter which is why my company's Prius has 500k miles those cheap bastards.

>500k miles on your Prius
>300k miles on the Prius you want to buy
Holy shit I'm wary of buying anything over 150k miles. You have no idea what people did with them over those 300k miles. Then again it is a Prius, how bad could it be?

My dad's car was a 1996 Camry back in 2007 and it had 300k, ran very smoothly. My bro got a hand me down 1999 Nissan maxima in 2010 which had 240k, it died at 300k due to a coolant leak(ran very smoothly). Both my current cars are at 180k. I only trust Japanese cars to run this smoothly at those miles. I also don't push my cars and infrequenty go over 3k rpm on 4 cyls.

I also buy from south Jersey or Virginia, nice open areas, I just don't K of about hybrids too well.
seeing a prius infuriates me because nearly alll of the women who drive them can't fucking drive. it's a pussy car for a push man, but if you're tight on money i can understand. i don't think it takes an expert to see it needs a new battery
