Am I the only one who prefers the 458 to the 488?
I hate the air intakes on the 488, they look ugly.

They're both ugly.
I do. The 458 will go down as a classic Ferrari, one of the all time greats.
Clean and aggressive, with subtle details like the f40 aping tri tailpipes, and the fact that all the air intakes are on the bottom

I like both.

No it won't.
>aping
That's all it is. A homage. No H-gate. No Columbo V12. No history. Just a rolling homage of what once was.
I feel the same about all refreshes, 308->328, Testarossa->512TR, 360->430, 550->575 (though those are about the same in looks). The original always looks better, the refresh is always the better performer. In all those cases except for the 512TR I'd rather own the earlier car. The 458 was designed by Pininfarina and the 488 is Ferrari in house so it's no surprise to me the 458 is the better looking car.

The 430 is objectively better looking than the 360 though
The 458 never really did it for me but I liked it a lot, the 488 really is just meh to me. And the turbo just kills the sweet sound from the 458. I always loved the f430,especially the rear end of that car. Don't like any modern ferraris that much after the f430
I would adore having a straight piped 458 speciale...hearing that shit roar through monaco gives me a non literal hardon
for mass prod. models tho, switch the engines and I'll gladly take the 488.....that 4.0t just doesn't sound right to me

Trying so hard to do what, post in a thread?
>>17867842
No, the squared off quarters look terrible
>>17867985
>>17867992
The sound is pretty disappointing but the 430/458 didn't sound great either, especially at normal RPM range. 355 was the best sounding V8 car imo.

I agree, 355 sounds godlike
but dude... https://youtu.be/Io7DZgJpUAs

My ass

>the squared off quarters look terrible
Agreed.
Also, reminding people of the model number by putting it in big letters on the side view mirror seems like a move geared for morons.

>No it won't.
Every Ferrari is special enough and every one of them will go down as a classic.

Dino 308 2+2, 400i, Mondial, 456A, 612, FF, California, none of those cars will ever be classics. Even with the super high production numbers of the 458 I think it's a shoe in, it's a great car.
