So new biker here, wanting some advice. I live in the city and my commute to work is about 5-10 min, I want to get a bike because free parking and I dont have to get there at like 5:30 in the morning to get a free park with a car.

Now for bikes, I have had a few people recommend the GROM, and to be fair, looks fucking awesome. I have literally never ridden before so am only just learning now.

Any recommendations other then the GROM? or Is this a pretty good choice for city driving for a beginner?

Ive heard about helmet straps being cut to steal the helmet regardless though. I might get a cable lock for my vest and jacket and put that through the chinbar.

Prep is key. Sand old stuff off, you want a bit of a rough surface, like after using some scotch-brite, for the best adhesion. Before applying any coat of paint or primer, use a degreaser to remove any oils or contaminants that would mess with the paint bonding. Score each coat before applying a new one with scotch-brite, then de-grease again. multiple thin coats are preferable to one heavy coat. use a couple thin coats of some sort of clearcoat to protect everything and you should be good.

When it comes to spraying, keep a uniform distance from your material and use smooth motions, making sure to start and end the spray off of the material you're spraying to avoid heavy spots or runs.

Really, prep is the biggest thing that often takes the most time for a really good result.

I'd avoid sanding if you can, its difficult to avoid noticable scratches when sanding plastic. might want to use a high temp paint too, mine is peeling near the exhaust and radiator.
