Should I buy one?

Yes

Yep.
I'd probably favour a Rocket Three, but the V-Max is a very close second.

Would it be good for cruising, tho? I think it would be funny to slap saddlebags on it.

I don't know, ride one

I have, and it's comfortable enough, but it seems... I dunno, excessive. There's a couple for sale at a place near me, and I want to trade in my kawasaki vulcan once its paid off. I haven't ridden a rocket iii, tho, and I want to.
For lack of a better word, it was intense. It sounded like fuckin thunder and I pulled the throttle back once in 3rd and was immediately pressed into my seat, and went from 45 to 70 in what seemed like a second. It's a big bitch, tho.
Also when I started it, the digital display on it says "Time to ride--this is VMAX" which I thought was fuckin badass.

It is amazing for cruising. But easy to break the speed limit unawares.
The Rocket Three handles better, but the V-Max isn't unwieldy.

This. I've ridden piped and tuned Busas, but this thing is on a different planet.

Do you want a big, heavy cruiser that's fast in a straight line but can't turn and also has abysmal fuel range?

Yes
