Do you reckon that the idea of mixing combustion engines with electric motor support is actually useful or just fancy bullshit?

It's actually useful. Seriously do some fucking research before starting threads like these
Regenerative braking is pretty neat.

hybrids are a step in the right direction, but i feel like electric or hydroelectric would be best for DD
>>17854342
>own hybrid
>own sports car
>???
>profit
if you can only own one, you need a compromise car. However if you can own 2 or more, might as well own a cheap used hybrid for maximum gas sipping.
>>17854342
It's a great idea in theory. Haven't looked in to whether or not the implementations really make sense or not since almost all my miles are long-distance and so no common hybrid makes sense for my purposes.

Crz is a hybrid done well in my opinion. It gives you regenerative braking, low end torque, and minimal weight addition (100lbs allegedly).
>>17854686
IT's a hybrid done well, but a car done poorly and a CR-X successor done shitty.
>>17854688
I dont actually know anyone whos got one. Are they shit? I was thinking about it. I was turned on by the fact that its only 2600lbs. It seems like a decent daily.
BMW i8 is the only hybrid worth looking at.
No, it's trash. Marry an electric to a gas turbine and we'll talk.

Have one myself for the past year and I love it, I average 48mpg with normal daily driving but it is more a 2+2 rather than a 4 seater so keep that in mind if you want to get one.
>>17855136
In the US it's only available in 2 seater.

I daily a mini cooper s, which is fun to rip around in, but its endless bmw electrical problems. Im thinking the crz has a similar driving experience except not bmw and newer.

I have a 2011 with manual transmission
It's fun enough but honestly I wish it had about 30 more HP, highway driving can be tough at times due to the lack of power.
It has great handling though and super cheap insurance by virtue of being a hybrid

I think there was a factory SC at some point that would probably be an easy bolt on. Also Kamispeed has an insanely cheap turbo kit (3k) if you feel like doing a lot of work.
>>17855962
Yeah, there's a HPD supercharger that costs a bit over 5k for about 60 HP, but I don't want to put that much money into the car.
