>Mercedes-AMG has released another teaser of the $3.2 million Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar, which is going to debut tomorrow at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. We’ve already seen some clues to how it’s face will look, but now Mercedes-AMG has released a teaser of the Mercedes-AMG Project One’s rear.
>Mercedes has actually shared quite a bit of information on the Project One: 1.6-liter turbocharged V6 engine derived from the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 car, which will drive the rear wheels via an eight-speed automated-manual transmission. Electric motors will drive each of the front wheels, making 322 hp combined, and will be joined by some flat 800-volt lithium ion battery packs located just behind the front wheels. Like an F1 car, the Project One will use a 161 hp MGU-K motor for a power boost and an MGU-H motor to recovery power for the battery packs. The powertrain will make over 1,000 horsepower, but an exact figure hasn’t been given.
>AMG boss Tobias Moers claims it achieves a thermal efficiency of 43%. By comparison, the thermal efficiency of AMG’s existing twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 is put at 25%.
>Moers says AMG is developing a special progamme to support buyers of Project One, although he suggests the new car will not be as difficult to drive as many anticipate: “Because of the F1-derived technology used by the new car, prospective buyers have been asking if they will require a support crew or dedicated lubricants to run it. My answer is always no. It will be a street car. You keep it plugged in in the garage. You fill it with fuel. That’s it.”

Sounds very impressive. It looks like MB found a way to make it more reliable. This explains why MB is statistically the most dominant in any F1 seasons.
