The year is now 2032. You still own your current shitbox and you've maintained it well. It's basically in the same condition now as it was 15 years ago. Did your car appreciate or depreciate in value?

Post your car here and state your case.

2002 WRX. Probably worth less than nothing at this point.

The smallest pickup truck is now a 1 ton chassis with a 1.0 liter compound turbo 20 speed automatic. Base model packages now force you to have a full interface that connects to your brain. Long gone are the days of manual windows, door locks and transmissions. Light pickup trucks from all manufacturers have increased to a 6 figure price for their rarity

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that it has 30k original miles on it and since you said same condition I'll round that up to 40k

Now the new edge mustangs around my area right now are going for 5k or less with 150k miles or more on them so let's say In 15 years a lot of these cars went to pasture.
Finally with all that In mind I'm sure I could get 10-15k out of a "mint" V6

It's one of the last good Hondas, but they're always going to be way behind the Integra as far as desirability. They're practically worthless now, so I can only imagine as cars become more cucked they might go up a bit. Prices have been on the rise for the last couple years here in Canada, so that's a good indicator as well I guess.

Considering 15 years ago it was already about 12 years old hmm.
I wonder how rusty it was 15 years ago. I'm going to assume it had no visible rust and the engine high temp paint was in better shape. Probably had around 150K miles at that point.

Well considering these seem to have gone up about 10%-20% in value since I got mine three years ago I bet they'd continue to appreciate.

I bet I could get 15K out of it, they were comparitively rare to begin with, desirable because of the DOHC version of possibly their most notoriously bulletproof engines, and have timeless styling. I may be able to get more as pristine, low mileage CE's right now with all their paperwork could likely fetch 15K.

15-30K I would say, definitely into the "classic" territory that far ahead in the future.

1992 Ford Ranger

If I put as many miles on it per year as I've averaged since I got it, it will have 560k miles on it.
Which is slightly more then double it's current mileage.

But, if it somehow makes it that long, given how few other rangers might be on the road by that time, it might have a SLIGHT increase in value.

Probably not by much though.

I'm guessing even if it does appreciate it will be marginal.

But you never know.

no probably not. even non sti gc8 wrx really dont attract too much value now. And theyre reaching 25 years old. It will hold a higher residual value than most cars but dont expect it to become particularly collectible. They were produce in high numbers too and used as family cars, so finding clean ones isn't always that hard.

Yeah that has been my understanding regarding the Land Cruiser. It does need to have the drivers door, front left fender and the rear door replaced but all in all it has been very solid performance wise.

2013 BRZ. By 2032 i think clean models will be worth something.
>One of the last na sports cars
>Not sold in massive quantities and many will be wrecked or silly modded

I think it will fall along a 240z type curve

Fuck. Canadian here, that's like $2.20 (leafbucks) per litre.

I run premium and was bitching that I had to pay $1.39 the other day.

can confirm as an ae86 owner that people really fuck up this car, working to fix all of the previous owners screwups on this thing suck. At least it'll appreciate in value significantly over the next 15 years.

Possibly correct, but Saturns will always hold a unique place in history. They really were different cars, especially because they won't have the same rot/bondo issues that most other surviving cars will.

People didn't think much of little econoboxes like Datsun 510s when they were just a DD on the road - now they're highly sought after and tuned. Look at old shitty Volvos - everyone wants them now. Even crappy foxbody Mustangs are getting popular, despite being fucking HATED for the last 30 years.

God only knows the level of automotive cuckery we'll see in 2032 - A Saturn Ion may very well be a coveted vehicle. Of course, suicide will probably legal then so you have an escape.

Probably went up in value quite a bit, only made about 1600 of them over 2 years. Mine's an 08, only 358 of them made in white for that year. Fuck, I sound like a boomer now.

for some reason they hold their value insanely well, bought mine for $1200 (was dying) and cleaned the carbs. everybody sells them for $1500 no matter how trashed they are or if they even run properly. don't mind having a small bike since im pretty small it feels fast enough

Argue all you want, it has enough aftermarket support to BE a tuner car.
>Ecotec engine
>Getrag F23 or Saab F35 5 speed manual
>Delta chassis

Granted, 99% of the support it has is because its sister car is the Chevrolet Cobalt, but it does still have a large amount of aftermarket support.

Killarney is so dope, I'm going there in October for a week. Grew up in Sudbury and constantly miss it now.

I fucking hate Toronto, but there's no jobs up north.

looks 10x better than the Cobalt ever did

The Foodland grocery store's up north dont get a dinner rush they get a "unemployed cheque's came in today" rush. It would be hard to find a job but I would like too to live up north. I own a home in Brantford and a cottage near the french river. I wanna do the Crack in Killarney next year.

Maybe being one of the first mass produced electric cars will give it some value, but I think it's mostly going to be seen as obsolete.
>>
>>17852332
I'm not in the path of the worst of it. I will get some strong wind and rain but there's a good chance it will be safe in my garage. I don't really have any trees near my house. I'm out of the storm surge zones so flooding isn't really an issue. Only way I lose the car is if it just rains for days and we get 3 feet of rain like it did with Harvey, but they're only projecting like 6 inches of rain here..
>>
Basically anything petrol and manual will appreciate in value when autonomous electric cars roaming in packs

If it makes you feel better, E30s were super plentiful when I was shopping around back in '12, and then dried up after I bought my iX. Sold said iX that had 200k on it and slightly rusty for about 5, paid 1200

>Did your car appreciate or depreciate in value?
Well my car is now almost 30 years old. It was only worth 12,000 when it was new. I bought it for 1,500 14 years later.

Honestly if it's still running I would just give it away to some bright eyed youngster who likes the sound of internal combustion and wants to drive stick shift like the "old people" used to do.

it's not some enthusiast trim and it shows signs of daily usage for 13+ years as it sits right now

I do think it already has hit rock bottom on depreciation but I seriously doubt it would appreciate, especially at the rate I keep adding miles

I own a Volvo 940, so this is literally just gonna be me normally in 15 years. At this rate it'll be at 800,000k and still going at another 15 years anyways.
