OK, I had the oil changed on my bike at the dealership. First off they told me that an oil change is not necessary since the oil looked pretty clear on the dipstick. Told them to do it anyway.

When I came to collect it, the mechanic showed me the old oil. It was bluish coloured. Should I be worried, /o/?

It's a 2009 Yamaha YBR250, and it's air cooled.

Pic for interest.

Sounds to me like scrubs not knowing how to take care of their shit. Not the bike's fault.

Yeah, the oil was probably old. Possibly had tiny metal particles in it. If you had done the oil change yourself (WHY WOULD YOU NOT DO AN OIL CHANGE YOURSELF JESUS CHRIST) you could have looked at the drain plug (you DO have a magnetic drain plug, right? If not, you could have installed one while changing the oil) and checked for metal.

No, this is very common, it is completely legal to ride a bike without turn signals in many states, so long as you don't get caught turning without hand signaling.

It's not a sportbike but all the owners claim it is because they have a scooter with full plastics that have no business being on a bike that tops out that slow. Same with the cbr300, cbr500, etc. It's the motorcycle equivalent of synthol or a fake hood scoop on a car.

thanks to apparently never being opened or having the oil changed the seal which is supposed to be stuck to the cover is loose. So I've got to hold that down while, also lining up an internal component with the reciprocal hole on the cover and trying to slide the cover in between the case and the starter motor.

That was a different Saffer in Namibia.

They both do and don`t fear whites here. I am 115kg and 1.88m verses, on average, 75kg 1.70m Kaffirlets. I have never lost a fight to a kaff. But they won`t hesitate to attack in force, almost no one can fight 1v5.

As for fear of the mind, they are still sacred of whites but would never admit it. The younger generations are not as afraid. They only have the stories from their parents.

I only bully the cunts that throw stones are don`t use mirrors and then refuse to apologize or act rude.

They are very few refos here, if any. Blacks hated other blacks and try to push them out. Just look at the Black V Black Xenophobic violence.

Whites don`t fear Blacks, we are wary around them but we fear criminals(which are black).

There should be a 2 locating roll pins in the clutch cover/motor if they are stuck in the clutch cover just pull them out with your fingers and put them in the corresponding holes in the motor to hold the gasket in place while you get the cover back on. If you can't get that to work tape a couple ( or all ) the bolts in place in the clutch cover, slide the gasket on too and be careful as you slide the whole thing onto the motor. Next time, don't pull the CC for an oil change.

Sucks to be there, takes me 1/2 hour to get here, http://www.bestbikingroads.com/motorcycle-roads/motorbike-rides-in-united-states-/california-/mosquito-ridge-rd---_410100.html

The info from the comment is outdated, I haven't seen a cop on this road in a few years now. Squids finally quit going there and killing themselves so the cops don't bother anymore. I've done it end to end on a nice day and not seen one car on multiple occasions. Even a day when you see cars, 10 for the whole day is a lot.

Not him, but I was considering one. It looks classy, and it's fun to ride an underpowered piece of shit like a grom in traffic. If you're on a classy bike, you get a lot more respect from non-riders, I got a lot of respect on my BMW (because people see the logo and think classy). It's not the same as old, a 70's/80's Japanese bike just looks old, not classy, no matter what hipsters with their cafe racers think. The big BMW handles really nice, but you pretty much don't leave second gear in the city. I ended up buying a baby naked sports bike, and it's fun to push it when there's a clear road, but it's not much fun when speed is dictated by traffic but the engine is constantly begging for more or power drops off.

There's something just pleasant about riding a small displacement air cooled engine like when I had a 250cc baby cruiser (absolute shit on freeways) learning bike. You shift frequently enough to keep things interesting, but it's not demanding like a high revving peaky engine. The torque band is forgiving and easy going so you don't have to concentrate on it, but if you want you can try to push the engine and keep it happy and not end up rear ending the car in front of you. It's not really adrenaline pumping, but it is engaging just going along with traffic.

A cruiser in the city is about as engaging as a autotragic scooter, once you're out of first it's just twist and go with different amounts of revs, all the "personality" is in the exhaust note and vibration, not any interaction with the bike.

A sports bike is either demanding and unforgiving requiring lots of attention, or it has so much power it's just begging for more all the time. A powerful sports bike is even worse than the twist and go feeling of a cruiser, it just constantly begs to be WOT and you always have to tell it no. A smaller sports bike can be pushed sometimes, sometimes it is very engaging, but at other times it just feels more like it's demanding.

By big twin I meant something like a HD Dyna or a Goldwing, I know it's not a twin.

I don't understand this, maybe it's because I don't have a gf.

Could I tow two bikes on one shitty Harbor Freight trailer, with my 98 4cyl Accord?

Shipping companies will charge $500+ per bike and I can't really afford that atm. Is it do-able or should I drop the prices on these things so they sell?
>>

Can you rent a u-haul?
>>
>>17837427
Good for nice relaxing highway travel
>>
>>17837592
A truck or a trailer? I'm moving 1800 miles away so the prices are about $1200 for a trailer and $2500 for a truck
>>
>>17837585
What bikes, and how attached to them are you?
>>
>>17835968
And he flaked. Of course
>>
>>17837615
Not attached at all, I'm trying to sell them. 2006 Ninja 500R w/ 12k miles and 2016 CBR600RR w/ like 100 miles.

I ended up paying $12k for the CBR in April but can't get anyone to show interest, even at $9k
>>
>>17837633
Because 9k is finance territory. Someone would rather just buy new.
>>
>>17837633
Why are you selling it?

And 600's haven't been updated in forever so you're not really getting anything more by buying a newer bike, probably why it's hard to sell.
>>
>>17837640
I agree, I wasn't sure how I would find someone with that much cash. What options do I have then? Am I stuck with this bike until it gets down to the $5k range? Also I financed it, making the sale and title transfer even less appealing.
>>
>>17837648
Either keep it and ride it. Or keep it and wait for a buyer. The dealer won't buy it bike for what the loan amount is.
>>
>>17837647
I'm moving from the Bay Area to TX where the weather and laws aren't nearly as nice for riding. And I bought it before I lost my job so it's not something I can afford at the moment

>>17837655
What about dropping the price to get it sold? Geico is charging me $150/mo for insurance (financer wants full coverage) and the $200 payment make it hard to hold onto
>>
>>17837622
Welcome to CL.
>>
>>17837648
Keep riding it and keep listing it. It's going to take a long time to find a buyer, but nothing is lost from you listing it versus just riding it. Just put firm and will not respond to lowballers. Don't expect much interest in it.

>>17837664
>What about dropping the price to get it sold?

That is exactly how the free market works, when the price is right for somebody they will buy it.

This is why you don't ever finance a toy, shit happens in life and now you got fucked by interest when you bought it and you'll get fucked because you will be forced to off it cheap if you don't get lucky.

Put the 500R online for ~2K USD, trailer the CBR600 to your new home. Your Accord should be fine hauling both mechanically, but you might not be allowed to depending on how your local laws are.

At these rates >>17837869 you'd have to have no income at all not to be able to afford to pay off that loan easy as shit.
>>
So I left my bike idling on the kickstand for about 30 minutes. How fucked am I?
>>
>>17838051
The problem is idiots finance lots of things because they see low monthly payment and think they can afford it.
>>
>>17838065
How does the credit rating system work then? Is it like insurance that goes down the longer you are insured or is it based off your income and assets?
>>
>>17838042

>>
>>17838082
It's based on your history of paying debt. You have to go into debt, then pay it back.
>>
>>17838082
It's not based off income or assets at all. I make 65k and have 45k in my vanguard and I have almost no credit because I used a debit card exclusively until 6 months ago. Get a cc and pay it off kids, I want a condo now but I have to build credit for a year first
>>
>>17838120
>>17838123
That's so fucking retarded, I haven't loaned money ever in my life and pay everything either debit or cash. The only time I'll ever take out a loan will be to buy property, so if I did this in the US I'd basically be a moron getting scammed hard.

Blue is odd, but doesn't look like coolant or condensation. Metal is fucking distinctive and doesn't look blue. You'd have seen steel, aluminum or (rarely, depends on what fails) brass colored particles if it was a wear metal. Might have had some odd oil additive discoloring it, but blue isn't metal.

t. highly experienced mechanic.

I'd ride it and keep an eye on the oil, remembering some residual oil persists between oil changes.

If really curios, pour some future drained oil through a white coffee filter, or better yet inspect the pleats in your oil filter. You can cut off the cover of canister filters without making chips by using a pipe cutter.

I often use a couple of dots of super glue to hold cover gaskets to the cover if I'm out of 3M weatherstrip adhesive/Gasgacinch/etc. (Avoid RTV.)

is there such a thing as affordable and waterproof textile trousers or should I just keep using my waterproof overtrousers?
