My choice would be the STi. I value driving entertainment and involvement over comfort or daily-ability. I'm a man-child so that'll probably never change. The idea of manual cars becoming extinct scares the shit out of me.

The gti with power package gets an electronic lsd up front. You most likely will never notice its benefits unless you are at the limit. Do you plan on tracking the car or just looking for a fun daily?

the mk7 gti is easily more tunable and a much better daily
the wrx can go on dirt roads, looks edgier and can turn the heads of a few 14yo's
