Yeah but my shit only needs 27 HP to maintain 75 mph on the highway. Why would I possibly need more than ~265?
>>
>>17821793
With 9,4?? Thats just lazy engineering my man.
>>
A 572ci fuel injected dohc v8 would make more power
>>
From a fuel delivery standpoint, carburetors are the automotive equivalent of pissing into the toilet from across the room. It sure is interesting, but it's not the best way of doing it.
>>
No shit it's a giant engine. That doesn't mean hp is the sole concern. Can I drive it all year round? Can I drive it at any elevation? How does the block affect the weight distribution of the car. Do I have mpg concerns? Etc. If we're shooting for a record on the 1/4, by all means go iron big block. Anywhere else, other concerns arise.

And be physically twice as big and weigh twice as much.

>>17821846
F1 cars just spray their fuel from above too. Whatever works.

>>17821858
It's physically about the same size as a big DOHC V6 or V8 and weigh's around 600lbs. The "low" hp/l ratio means it'll make that power all day long forever.

Then why can't the 3.5 ecoboost run 3's then? Surely if even /lgbt/ people can figure out how to then it should be easy for a big multi billion dollar macho company to do so right?

Yeah but i actually own my LS, you don't own that engine.
>>
>>17821793
now give it port and direct injection, quad overhead cams, HCCI/spark hybrid ignition. you now have 30-50% more power
>>
>>17821793
why would they make that? there is literally 0 reason to make it, sure it makes power but it's a dinosaur, an ls has a way stronger bottom end and would still take more punishment, it's just a token motor for boomers to buy
>>
>>17823876
there's tons of big block NA crate motors, it's a niche and they know it. it won't end up in a production car from the factory
>>

this. pushrods are trash.

lol
>>
>>17823908
but it does you fucking retard, I know you probably don't know or understand what I am about to say but i'll pretend you do, The ls was built with a deep skirted block and 6 bolt mains, that is it's main thing over other chevy v8s, it makes the bottom end super strong because it is incorporated into the block whereas on a 350 or even the 9.4 it's just a 4 bolt or 2 bolt main sticking out. therefore the LS is much stronger
>>
>>17821793
Neither can the gas station pump
>>
>>17824028
i'm not sure why anyone would get this motor, even for a chevy restomod, an ls7 would be far superior in aftermarket, potential, reliability, mpg, etc
>>
>>17824008
meanwhile there are hardly any fast as fuck LS powered cars and all the fastest Chevy powered cars use big blocks

crazy how the LS dies at around 700hp too

looks like you're changing goal posts and not answering my question. either way a bigblock can't handle the same power stock, a 454 couldn't take the boost an ls can take stock. unless you can show me a stock 454 can beat a stock ls I call bullshit on everything you're saying

yeah that thing they completely fail at doing compared to any iron v8?

if you want to be a hack with a meme swap go ahead and go LS

Not him, and not trying to get into the BBC vs. LS debate, but
>Le iron block boost meme
Is getting ridiculous. Aluminium or iron, unless that block is ridiculously badly designed (looking at you SBF), makes no difference in bottom end strength. It's just that the true LS motors have weaker internals (when subjected to copious amounts of boost) than the truck 5.3 and 4.8, which are commonly iron block. However, an aluminium block 5.3 will take just as much abuse (apart from the slightly higher compression ratio on those models).

sloppy mechanics ran a 9 second 1/4 mile with a Truck 6.0L LQ4 with 270,000 miles on it.
Boost cam and a on3on3 turbo.

LS internals are strong mang.

are you retarded?
The LS name applies to ANY Gen 3 or 4 Gm v8.
Parts are interchangeable.
the LQ4 is just a truck version of the LS2.
the 5.3L L33 is almost the same as an LS6, only difference is 5.3L vs 5.7L
