>>17813726
They're all reliable, but the newer you go the harder and more expensive it gets to keep them that way. The older you go, the more neglect/age you have to make up for.
We're in the last years of good/cheap bimmers.

Reminds me of Breaking Bad when he's sitting in the old Volvo and the cop lights start flashing through the snow.

BMW cooling systems of the era were horribly unreliable. Lots of plastic parts in the engine compartment too.
If you do lots of preemptive maintenance and wrench yourself you can get by. If you don't do stuff yourself, do NOT buy an E39 or an E46

>>17820192
lol that looks like it's homemade
definitely a low point for Volvo's attempt at being a """luxury""" automaker
>>17820548
How is an Volvo V50 a luxury car? It is just a regular small wagon. Even the new S90/V90 is just a normal family car and they are very common already. More new V90's registered already in this year than MB E, Passat, Fiesta or Focus. V90 is 8th most popular car currently and almost every fourth car in here is a Volvo. So I doubt that majority of Volvo owners think that it is luxury that they have.

that just took me back to my childhood, my dad had a gold 88 s-10, manual, 4cyl same interior. I miss it, but not the 3rd degree burns from the seat buckles and vinyl after sitting in the SETX sun all day.
It's a literal boat, too

Both. You can recline the front seat, or you can sit in the rear seat.
The front passenger seat also has a flip-out pillow so you can stretch your legs from the rear seat.

>>17822672

The numbers can be programmed to go to different stations. And for the cars with Nav it's pretty useful. I absolutely hate the fucking arch reactor screen I have to go through with the 4 series BMWs. I prefer punching in numbers as opposed to twirling a knob.

A Volvo isn't a "luxury" car.
It's a nice family car you use daily.
It might have a good finish and have some fancy details, but luxury it's not.

>Getting flashbacks of my dad telling me not to eat in the car with this one
I was told the same thing. I was 10 when he got his 2000.
Still to this day, he doesn't like people to eat in it and the only drink he'll let you drink is water. It really is his baby.

I suppose it's a preferable alternative to replacing the blower motor.

'80 Toyota Cressida
I like the 90s interior, where all the meters and radio/cassette/cd player were still lit by dim green or orange backlight. Feels comfy driving at night.
Now everything is bright as fuck, with large screened navigation-cum-ICE LCD flashing blue lights that really annoyed the hell off me. Apparently the orange backlit dashboard is disappeared in all but the most basic specs in the cheapest of cars.

nothing beats 90s/early 2000s GM trucks for comfiness imo
>>17811371
not my car, but exactly the same interior as my first car, a 300D.
Looks really bright in the picture but the leather in reality was super dark and nice. I miss that car as a highway cruiser, it was so comfy at 2am.
I wanna paint my a, b, and c pillar trim black to match the rest of my interior instead of the gross grandma-tier light tan they are now. Best way to make it look stock?
