You're not wrong, my family owned different ones three while I was growing up with the last one being given to me as my first car (One of them was an early model, mine and one of the others were about the same year as the one you linked) I miss the thing, and honestly I might buy it back, the same guy I sold it too six or so years back now still owns it, doesn't use it that much either so he'd probably let it go, want it back at least for trips into the woods, sucked too much gas for daily stuff around here.

That IS super expensive for what you get. The poor thing has damage of one sort or another on literally every panel. It would be a prohibitively expensive restoration because of that so it's either a parts truck or a backwoods beater and the best part of $4000 is far too much for that.

Everything to make it start is broken. Ignition switch, starter, Probably some shit with the engine like engine mounts. Might be a fuel pump. Engine could be at the end of its life and you would need a new one. For not running, $1500 is a little high. I would pay no more than $1000.

>>
>>17822092
It'll need the headgasket done if it hasn't already been done. The 7m is notorious for that. I guess the torqued it down incorrectly from the factory and unless it's been replaced, and when replaced done correctly, it'll go. Valve covers always leak on them no matter what, not really an issue. That could be the oil leak. You could always swap a 1jz in it since the car already has the r154.

Besides that just little stupid things. Like the ad says, you probably can't run the a/c,
>>

That tan interior actually looks pretty fly.

Offer him 2500. If he bargains you can get it for 2800 if he gets pissed then offer him 3000.

2700-2900 or so was what I was thinking, since I figured going down about 30% seemed like a hell of a lowball, even though that's closer to the market values I was seeing on them.

>the engine is super cramped and hard to work on and its gonna need a new timing belt
That's a shame. Do 300zx's need a lot of work or are they generally lower-maintenance? I'm not too good with a wrench so I might end up sending it over to a shop for anything intensive.

I don't think they're too hard for things like head gaskets, but there's some items that cost stupid money that only toyota sells. I don't have an example though. Bushings aren't hard to find as far as I know.

The cost to do the headgasket? I'm not sure, if you do it yourself just the cost of arp headstudds, a metal head gasket and I guess machining the head?

People seem to say if you're taking it to a mechanic for work you'll go broke. So unless you're planning on doing some work on it yourself I wouldn't get it. If you have a bit of disposable income and you can work on cars I'd say get it for sure. Ask if they've done the head gasket and if so, make sure they have proof. To fix it I think you need the arp head studs and metal head gasket torqued correctly. I think the manual says 72 and it was supposed to be 90lbs.

It seems really clean and you could have the front and rear bumper painted, probably around 800 to paint that. It seems like most are usually trashed.

an old 7 series isn't worth anything.

there was once a description on here that if you owned a miata for a year, and every time you started it you disabled a random electronic feature, and every time you stopped it you threw $10 out the window, then that's what owning an old 3 series is like.

Take a 3 series and do the same thing you did in the miata, that's owning a 7 series

This wasn't originally a turbo car. It has a turbo swapped engine.

How do I know this? He neglected to mention it, but whoever did the swap also neglected to swap out the fucking gauge clusters. His redline is 1k lower than it should be, and the absolutely useless boost gauge that comes stock isn't there either.
>>
>>17837680
Sure, it would be fine if the turbo conversion had been done properly, i.e turbo suspension + brakes, but if the gauge cluster was left as is, I'm almost certain that it still has the absolute dogshit NA brakes and suspension of a stock NA car.

I really like the silver and blue color combo, like the fact it's a sedan, and the car looks super clean in and out in the pics. G20's are great little Cars.

I had a 94. Well built. Best way to describe it was it was put together like a 90's euro benz in non-luxury trim. Just everything very solid and tight.

They handle great. The second generation of G20 lost the multilink rear suspension of the first gen, but they still handle better for a fwd four door short of an integra Gsr sedan of the same era. Some versions even got a mechanical LSD.

Transmissions can be a weak point, but overall, very solid and reliable cars. One of those rare jap imports that flys under the radar and is full of JDM goodness. They are kinda slow, but a SR20VE swap will give you a high revving ringringrigndingding brapppppp race car motor that will be like 230hp+ after cams, tb and a good tune. The SR20DET swaps the sky is the limit in terms of Hp.

The euro posters here shit on the, because they got the U.K. Built cars, which were not as nicely built as the jap built cars that went to the USA. Don't listen to any of the eurofags who have negative opinions of this car. They simply don't know.

I want it but 6k seems like an outrageous price for a 30 year old van. Anyone have any clue what a reasonable offer on this might be?

son, 6k IS a reasonable price. i'd consider just importing an Acty or something from japan.

I called earlier about it. Guy runs a towing service, so that is convenient. Says it was last on the registered for 2012, guy passed away and the lady remarried and it sat in the garage, only got around to working on cleaning the garage now. They pushed it out and called the guy and had it towed away. No fuel pressure, but its rust free. Rats nest under the hood, but didn't get into the interior.

Going to look at it tomorrow, convenient that he runs a towing service.

I generally don't like buying cars with around 200k+ miles but I also heard that 90s Hondas are absolute tanks and can go way further.

This is the only AMG wagon I can find used being sold by a dealer in the entirety of Canada.

Was trying to find a nice used 2011-2014 model.

Then i noticed the KM, somebody enjoyed this car for the year or so they had it, putting on nearly 80,000km.

Probably purchased mid-late 2015 and then traded in early-mid 2017.

This always happens. Sucks having friends that love to ask you for help, but won't help you out when you need it.
