Hey yall, its me again /ShittyCherokeeBro/

Got another problem lol- fml right?

At low speeds both the A/C and heater blow minimal air and do not cool or heat, respectively.

When I accelerate to highway speeds they work fine.

Wat do?
>>
You are running low on freon anon, when u get on the highway ur condenser is getting more airflow because higher speeds and is producing more air. U need to put more freon on in and you should be fine.

thanks anon!

Turns out its not low on refrigerant, unless the pressure gauge is dead wrong. Reading 35 psi at 63 degrees F air temp.

Looks like im fucked
>>
It may not be low but don't trust the readout on a refill can from Autozone. You need to hook it up to a proper machine which will accurately measure low and high side pressures. That said let's assume for sake of argument that the system is properly filled and pressures are correct. I don't recall if these had separate ac condenser fans or not but either way a fan should be kicking on or speeding up. You mentioned minimal air between both cold/hot which leads me to believe you may have a blend air door problem

okay I'll look into that next. Quick question-So should I just fill the refrigerant anyway? How will I know not to overfill it if the pressure gauge on the can is janky?

I mean you can give it a shot and it may help but any mechanic worth a shit would never advise using that. It's a bandaid at best and doesn't address the underlying problem. If it is leaking a proper shop can introduce dye into the system and make finding the leak a lot easier. This isn't to say low refrigerant is your only issue. Your hvac woes may be compound in nature
