What's the general consensus on the Toyota Celica, specifically the 5th Generation? (T180)

I can tell you the T160 prior was lots of fun, as long as you got the SX spec with a 3S-GE (presuming you're not going all out with the top flagship GT4). Avoid the cookie cutter models with a Camry engine and suspension.

I imagine the T180 is more of the same as the T160.
