Can someone help me understand how a car's suspension affects its handling and how I can alter it to increase oversteer/understeer/grip whatever? I cant find anything relevant

The purpose of a suspension is to make the tires have the most contact with the road

A stiffer front suspension generally trends towards precision/understeer. A loose rear suspension would trend towards ass kicking/oversteer.

You can copy+paste parts of your text, literally the first result has a long list of what altering components results to
I think >>>/t/ has a car books thread and should have some stuff to get really fancy, but here are the basics of swaybars, springs, and alignment. I haven't bothered to learn about dampening yet.
>swaybars
Tie the left and right sides of the suspension together. Softening a swaybar will reduce traction loss at that end of the car in constant-radius turning. Too soft of swaybars and you get too much body roll. Too stiff and the car will become skittish over bumps.
>springs
Deal with force absorption. Same as swaybars, soften the same end as the problem or stiffen the other end to fix it. Also too stiff makes things become skittish, too soft and you can get excessive nose dive/nose lift. I can't remember which is the "better" choice to make stiff for ride comfort, but apparently one is less harsh on the street.
>alignment
Camber: if the tire is straight up and down or angled. A couple degrees of negative can be desirable for cornering grip but don't go full stancefag. Reduces straight line contact patch.
Toe: wheels point in or out.
Front: toe in keeps car stable in straight line. Toe out increases turn in response. Either will wear your front tires quickly, use anything morr than small amounts only for racecars.
>drive wheels
Affects ability to put power down. Too much throttle oversteer in a rwd? Dial in some toe in, if adjustable. Toe out is pointless in back as far as I know.
>caster
Steering angle up/down in relation to looking at car from side. Affects front dynamic camber and some other fun stuff. I don't know enough about it.
Thabks fags, really helped me out
