same car.
getting ready to sell mine though.

Same. The tranny is easily the worst part of my car.

They are reliable. The trans is just a slushbox like all older American automatics. Even though the trans may be the weakest point in the powertrain, that isn't saying much when even poorly maintained 4R70W lasts 200,000 miles of before it loses overdrive or the torque converter starts shuddering or something.
My car has 137,000 miles on it and the transmission operates perfectly. Because I change the fluid and filter every 30,000 miles (overkill, but it's what the manual specifies) I am confident that the trans will never be a problem. Knock on wood.
As long as you don't do something stupid like let it overheat due to towing in OD or never change the fluid, the ol' 4R70W will serve you will, even if it is a slushbox.

What are you going to get to replace it?
>>17787001
functionally speaking, they completey are.
there's a few quirks and there that go wrong, I would say especially if you buy an interceptor, but nothing huge.
mine specifically will have random problems that appear once then never return again. I don't know why

not exactly sure yet, thinking something a bit smaller. like a lexus is300, or basically a 3 series competitor that isn't a 3 series.
