Is it a bad idea to buy a modified car? Im looking at a 2005 996 Turbo with a few simple mods

>turbos

Its been done by a speed shop around here and a dealership is selling it for around 45k. It is somewhat of a high mileage car (67k). It is an automajic but 6speed turbos have meme taxes strapped to them. Bone stock 996 tarbos have around 20-50k but are around 50-70k for one.
Do I go for it or pass?
Nah get a 3k Civic and spend the rest on hookers and cocaine
depends on the mods, car, who did the mods, and if they have service logs.
Depends how much boost it's seen and for how long. Are these stressful mods or are they laid back?

I heard that bolts and nuts were screwed on tight, not laid back at all

Evolution motorsports. They're pretty big with porsches. Its their 660 turbo kit with some extras that they use. Apparently around 700hp. Not sure how long these parts have been in but these guys are reputable
God no, the Tiptronic is total fucking dog shit
Get a manual if you can't afford a PDK. If you can't even afford a manual 996 Turbo get a Carrera 4S instead
Otherwise you'd be better off getting an SL55 or something if you're only looking at Tiptronic 996 Turbos

Whats wrong with the tiptronic especially a beefed up one? Never heard anything wrong with them really
>>17784769
Sounds stressful. Owner might be dodging a repair bill coming up because he's out of money now.

Im gonna check it out. If i sense anything fishy I'm gonna pass on it

You don't get to play with an extra pedal and use 5,000 different unnecessary made up verbs when talking about it

I already do that anyways.

It's a dumb slushbox that's brain dead retarded in shifting and in manual mode it needs to wake up and roll out of bed every time you want to change gears
