i was draining my rear diff and these chunks came out. i was wondering if i put it into fwd mode and cleaned out the chunks would it still be driveable or would more break out and lock up my wheels causing my to lose control and die

were you driving it on the highway locked or something?

If you have a fixed rear yoke on your transfer case you can just snatch out the rear drive shaft and put it in 4high and drive it on the front axle
If you have a slip yoke on the transfer case you can do the same thing but you will lose fluid out of the tcase so it's more of a short term emergency sort of thing
