Hello, ive just got my full motorbike license and am looking to purchase one, i have limited knowledge of bikes, am wondering what /o/ would recommend.
Main things i want are:
Good price, nothing over $25k
Reliable
Sports bike type look
Fast acceleration (top speed doesnt matter a whole lot), but very fast acceleration is super important, i want to be able to get ahead of any other bike i see on the streets.

Where do you live
VFR800 is always a good choice. You can also get an older one and save some bux.

New Zealand, but importing isnt an issue.
Price i listed was in USD

nzer here, best bet is to hit up trademe and local dealerships. Sport bikes aren't very big here sadly.

What other bikes have you ridden/what are you riding currently?
>>17776356
Honda cb1300, buell xbx12xt, an old cb900 50cc, and 250cc scooters are what i ride regularly as my father owns these so i can just jump on them when want really.
Ive taken other bikes out for a ride, my friend owns a 2013, 250cc ninja, and just test rides. Most time on fathers bikes though.

Yea, i see a lot of Harleys and big tour bikes around, very little sports bikes though, makes me a bit sad

get naked, they easier to fix cuz no fairings
>suzuki sv
>honda hornet, cb500
>kawasaki er6 or er5
>>17776404
Because fairings are hard to take off...

Ask me how I know you don't ride a bike made after 2010.
>>17775862
>nothing over $25k
are you fucking retarded?
>>17776433
No, its my upper limit. I know there are some bikes out there, some might suggest buying a base bike and getting mods on it etc.
Just put it so people know that is the absolute max i can spend
>>17776524
there are maybe 5 production bikes that cost that much, why dont you just say "no limit"? And why would you spend over 5000 bucks on a FIRST BIKE?
Get a used 2005 ish one under 100hp, dont start thinking about buying a new one unless you put at least 10.000 km on the odometer.

My bike is made in 2011, it's fine.
>nothing over $25k
That's like asking to buy a car and saying "nothing over $400,000 :)"
>>17775862
>beginner bike
>has to be fast than anything on the road
Well that's not a good mix but I guess any 600cc sportsbike with a bigger sprocket at the wheel will do. Bikes didn't change that much over the years, you can get a cheap liter-bike with EFI from the early 2000' which wouldn't be too much of a write-off once it somersaulted away after clutching in too fast

well to be fair a lot of harleys cost that much base, and those are huge pieces of shit
>>17778867
harleys arent bikes

>$25k
