Hi people of /o!
I need your infinite car knowledge, and most of all passion, to help me.

I am looking for a really compact car, preferably from the '90, that's cheap but really fun to drive.
I live in Europe, and mountain roads are my passion.
Until now the only car that completely meets my standards is the Renault Clio Williams (2.0, 150 cv on a 3.7m car that weights around 900 kg). I found some used ones around 7000 euros, and it looks like an ok price.
What's your opinion, any other suggestion?
Thank you in advance!
>>
where in europe?
>>
>>17754775
Italy, really near the Alps
>>
Parts on that Renault might be getting scarce.
A newer car, like the Citroen Saxo VTS might be a good option. Mitsubishi Colt might be a good option, if it isn't the woman's car, but the older version.

And of course a 3k Civic in the form of EK hatch is always an option.

I didn't even take in consideration the saxo vts, I have to search more about that but it looks like a valid alternative!
Also..I considered before the Civic type R from 1997, but was too expensive for me, so gotta check also the 3k out.
Thanks for the help!
>>
>>17754836
The steering wheel is in the wrong side if I buy an original import one.
Also, thanks to Takumi, the ae86 are extremely overpriced
>>
why not Peugeot 406
>>
>>17754870
I'm searching for a really compact car, I prefer something shorter
>>
>>17754757

The Williams Clio is an awesome car.

But 7,000 euros for a hatch from 1993 is not cheap. That's expensive.

The expense gets higher when they are known as boy racer mobiles.
>>
>>17754893

Octavia VRs. The wheelbase is the same as a Leon or golf of the same gen, but they just have a trunk making them look longer
>>
>>17754895
I know it's actually not that cheap, but as for some other models, their fame makes the price higher, and if you want one with not much kilometers and kept in decent conditions..that's the price you have to pay

The infamous Toyota Celica.
It's a really good car indeed.

Fiat Uno
>>
>>17754947
The turbo one?
>>
>>17754959
I guess
>>
>>17754935

Also to consider.

Fiat panda HP100. Not so much of a rocket but it is quick, chuckable and cheap. I nearly bought one before I left the UK

Skoda Fabia VRs. One generation was a diesel hot hatch. Well rebound for being faster than the BMW mini in its day. You could get a regular 1.9 Fabia and chip it to get similar power

Most VAG stuff has a strong following that build tunes for them

rob a bank then ford escort cosworth
>>

Six speed box bruh
>>
>>17755021
If I could rob a bank I'd go for the Subaru Impreza (not the most recent one), or at least look to fix completely with new components the Clio Williams I found.
But the Escort Cosworth was a really nice veicle

Blobeye Subaru is the best imho
>>
>>17754801

Body parts aren't too bad.

I went to a scrap yard and got a rear taillight and drivers door bits for my 1.4 RT from a Williams.
>>
>>17755028
My grandma has the 1998 one, I learned to drive on that one, it feels weird to imagine a Fiat Panda as a 1.4 with 6 gears lol

I could buy one just for the memes
>>
>>17755157
Yes you would. Just like any other 90s car, I guess.
But look at the bright side: you'd die on a car with a tarbo.
>>
>>17755186
At least my dad would be proud of me for that
>>
>>17755206
Your moms wife's son would be even more proud.
>>
>>17755165
Memes aside it is a damn good car, not fast but really fun to drive around backroads and even the city. Don't get one if you go on long trips on the highway frequently, the gearing is really short. On the plus side, that means it has a bit of zip.

What about a Mazda 323 3-door hatchback (BG generation, 1990-1995)?

The standard 1.3 L or 1.6 L engine is probably not that fun to drive, but the GT-R model with a 185 hp 1.8 L engine and 4WD would be awesome in the alps (It is probably expensive though).
>>
>>17755425
>90s mazda
They've probably all rusted away.
And I've never seen the "GT-R" model in my life. It wasn't even commercialized in Europe, probably.
>>
Toyota Starlet GT
Toyota Vitz TRD
>>
>>17755445
Both utter shit.
>>
>>17755517

You ever driven any?

We got tons of starlet GTs around, they are quick to begin with and there is a lot of after market around for them.

A Vitz TRD will just outrun a probe GT in a straight line and I wouldn't doubt that it would rape it in the twisties
>>
>>17755577
Driven? I've driven both the diesel and petrol Mk1 Yaris.
I've had a Yaris T-Sport in my house, too. Never driven it tho, but it's not that different from a regular Yaris. It's only a bit more hard and powerful. Having said that, both cars I've driven were atrocious to drive.

As for the Starlet... Really? OP lives in fucking Europe, land of the retarded fun/dangerous 90s hatchbacks and you come here telling him to buy a fucking Starlet?
>>
>>17755114
>mfw live in the US and can't find any of these

Eh...
Blobeye a besteye
>>
>>17755425
Yeah finding the GT-R is not exactly easy. Better off finding some Euro hatch.
