Just drove a 2008 m5 today and it was... kind of disappointing to be honest. It made you feel like you were going fast when you weren't. Dont get me wrong the extra features were cool for driving in general but I took it to the same road that i hit 120mph in my 323i on and it couldn't even make it to 100 without reaching the end. It just felt slow as hell and the turning angle was like half of my car's.
I get that 5 is luxury but you'd think that a 9yo v8 would be faster or at least turn better than my 17yo v6.

OP probably just sucks at driving, the M5 has 340hp more than the 323i.
I do agree that the turning radius is much bigger on the E60 than E46
