Never owned one so I dont get much of an opinion here but I would buy one in a second

They're weird little cars. I like them, I would buy one and put in an AMC 4L.

(One of) my dream car is to take a gremlin, gut everything down to just the frame, quarter panels, etc. so it looks like an original shitty gremlin (preferably with rust and shit) and then install a significantly more powerful engine in it, high performance brakes, exhaust, shot in general.

That way, I have a "shitty" car that people make fun of and then get their asses left behind. The ultimate sleeper.
I wonder if I could try selling them to the local PD as undercover cars?
