Do ett If you can afford the insurance.
Please don't rice it to much, you'll get back what you put in.

actually I was hoping to get a clean bugeye to keep completely stock
Only thing I'd even consider is actual upgrades like internals and upgrading the turbo
>>17745856
A modded bug eye can be fun but sti swapping in to a regular bugeye can be easy preformence.
I've owned a 2005 Outback and that really turned me off Subarus. Head gasket failures the engine has to come out for, oil pipe pickup cracked, all kinds of weird shit.

>2005
There's your problem OP. Outbacks went to shit after 2003. Now they're just everyday grocery getters.
Just keep up on oil changes and leave the boost stock.

Do you by chance know what the stock boost is? I recently picked up an '03 WRX with incomplete maintenance logs (Yeah, I know, but it was $5k), and I'm trying to divine to what extent the previous owner fucked it up (He put in an STI shift knob, a momo wheel, and a boost gauge in fucking MPa).

I should add, I know I could just ask on a subaru forum, but that requires going to a subaru forum.

bout tree fiddy
Get a saabaru wagon. Those things are always mint, because the owners who buy them, tend to be less boy-racer and do simple mods that don't fuck shit up.
