So, I have this jeep cherokee with 2.5 diesel italian engine and manual transmission. That engine has no belt or chain. The problem is with manual transmission. What automatic transmission is the easiest to swap, if its possible? Do i need new ECU for that? I drive mainly inside city with heavy traffic jams and sometimes go to lake etc. So manual trans is very uncomfortable for now

I googled my issue but it seems 2.5 diesel engines were sold only in europe. Europeans are not very friendly with sharing their swap stories.

Find cherokee looks at available engines and trans look up just the trans offerd with your engine for other cars it came in.
Or look up you engine in different cars and see what trans they came with.
