I know because some dindu spit on my car. Earlier, he had riding up and down the residential street trying driver side car doors to see which ones were open. I saw him try my door and shouted to get away from my car. He rode off on his bicycle. When I came back to my car, there was a big patch of spit on the door. Those fixed up cars he sold at a separate used car business he ran. While he made money, he didn't charge too much for those beat up cars. And so a lot of people ended up with an affordable even if beat up used car and he still made some money on it.

I always have the power door locks on for all doors. Even when I get into the car, I lock the doors before I even start the engine. It's not that I fear your female friend coming up to open my door. But there are too many parking lot muggings. Other people get to their cars slower, so those muggers can encounter the driver outside the car. But because I rush to my car and get in, the only chance they have is to open my door or block me (which they've not done).

What I especially hate, not just dislike, is how most mugging crimes do _not_ get reported in the news. Either the store doesn't want negative publicity so it leans on the paper to not publish, or the happy face the city tries to put on for the downtown and suburb violent mugging problems.

I've found out the hard way that passengers resent being told not to slam the door (after they slammed it) or to dent cars by opening the door fully. Some people resent having a problem pointed out. It's not like I needled them. And denting other cars can also damage the edge of my doors too.

I remember having to carefully paint the edges of my passenger doors once I picked up a new $24.95 tiny bottle of touch up paint from the dealer. I miss having walmart sell those little bottles of touch up paint, but apparently those little bottles had nearly 80% loss rate (spoilage due to people opening the bottles or shoplift) at my walmart when I asked the auto services manager many years ago. So it wasn't worth carrying that product since it was a guaranteed monetary loss.

Because there is a car dealership near there and it parks storaged cars there, no police are able to patrol in cars or bicycles due to barriers. Thus homeless gather there at night.

When there is a lot of waste on the ground, or cars run over poop and smear it around so that it eventually becomes dust along with leaves, you have the situation where you can get some of that nasty stuff, just like any dirt on the bottom of your shoes, into your car. If it's from conifer trees, their sap has varying amounts of turpentine with pine trees having the most. Instead of grinding it off with compound which is damaging as it thins the clearcoat, use one of the nice liquid wax products more often. By doing it more often, the solvents in the liquid wax product will soak in and displace or at the very least dilute the tree sap out of the clear coat.

While meguiar's Gold Class liquid wax is good, it's tedious to apply frequently as it has to be carefully removed. Instead, try one of the more modern fully synthetic waxes such as meguiar's Ultimate liquid wax or the Turtle Wax ICE liquid wax. They have a nice cleaning effect on soaked in tree sap. The synthetic waxes are also easy to remove because the tediousness of getting it out of cracks and off trim is far far less than with conventional wax products based on carnauba wax.

If the discoloured spots are only in a few places, there is no need to rewax the whole car frequently. After the whole car is waxed with the synthetic wax, just re-wax those problem spots once per week for a few weeks. The spots should become much less noticeable as the solvents in the wax pulls out the turpentine. The waxes can't do anything about the acidic chemical reactions the sap does to the paint though.

None of my friends is so bad at observation that they can't see my car isn't a shitbox. They shut the doors gently. The doors almost shut themselves in the first place since the manufacturer put a slight tilt on the hinges so that the doors naturally want to fall towards the car. While it would take too much coordination for me to shut the door with just my pinkie, if any door was left open at any of the 2 detent positions, it could be latched fully shut by pushing it shut with just one pinkie's worth of force.

I intend to keep it that way by not slamming doors or doing other things to stress doors. So far, no one opens a door and then leans downward on them like a support crutch. That would certainly put a lot of downward bending force on the hinges. No one's a fatty hear, so no one needs to hang onto the door with all their weight as they get in or out. I feel a little sad for other people who have to carry fat heavy people that don't use the overhead handle. They lean on the door with a lot of weight.

I fetch the carefully sealed squirt bottle that is nestled upright in rags and stored in its own plastic bucket in case of leaks. I move the bucket to the front passenger footwell.

By not getting out of the car, the security cameras in the parking lot do not see me. The trunk is also never opened which can suggest something is being removed. Plausible deniability is also an important tool.

Checking the dark towel and the squirt bottle for leaks, if there are none, then the dark towel is clean. I drape it over the edge of the now open window in case any drip from the bottle occurs.

The small towel and bottle are pulled back into the cabin carefully as the power window goes up. Put bottle into bucket carefully with towel wrapped around it. Make sure hands are clean as the liquid can eat the steering wheel plastic. I have wet wipes and microfiber ready. And I can always grip the wheel thru one of the spare cloths as I drive off.

Do not dent my car and not leave a note. Hit and run on my car is not tolerated.
