Guess what has a 8500 RPM redline, a 6 speed, 100 hp/l, and AWD
Fucking that turd has the same motor as an elise, weighs under 2800lbs and can haul your shit

>Doesn't know it's a toyota
Shig

A Ford Fiesta is a Mazda 2
>>17722479
I know damn well its a toyota(read Same engine as a lotus elise, which is commonly known to use a Toyota 2zz 1.8 i4)
Which isn't a bad thing, they just sold more vibes than matrix GTS around here
>>17722457
imagine being this much of a retard
It's a 7th gen Toyota Celica on the inside
The awd one had 118 hp and its a traverse engine anyway.

I thought it was 128?
I guess but the fact that you could drag and drop swap a hi output 2ZZ into it and have a relatively mean people hauler on the cheap is still an interesting concept
These cars are pretty nose heavy so might not be a handler without some work (battery relocate, coilovers, etc)
I suppose a 2zz turbo kit isn't terribly hard to find, but I think they did make a TRD supercharger so there's that too
Undercover hooning machine.
Its not sexy, it has no badge appeal, but the numbers don't lie.
Light, manual, reasonably powerful in FWD

The awd is auto only and second gen gt/xrs use a boring camry engine which mean no vvtl-i.
Pretty sure it does not have the exact same engine, only shares the bottom end.

The 2ZZ-GE versions were FWD only

>GM sucked so bad, it had to rebadge a fucking Toyota to save face
>>17724435
Actually, it exists for contract reasons.
When GM made Geo, they made contracts with the companies that built the car for the Geo Brand (Toyota, and Suzuki. Isuzu is part of GM).. When GM killed off the Geo brand in 1998, the contracts said cars still had to be made for GM. That's where the Chevy Prizm, Tracker, Metro, and Pontiac Vibe came from. That contract also got Suzuki the Forenza and Reno, which were rebadged Daewoo Lacetti's.

>he doesn't know about the joint GM-Toyota ventures
>>17722388
Not that.
Don't fuck with me here, i had an AWD matrix.
It's auto only, comes with the 1ZZ, was detuned from the factory and is slow as SHIT.
Good car otherwise, though.

Also Cavaliers were sold in Japan under Toyota. I think GM sold a few other of their cars overseas underneath Toyota as well.
>>17724488
Yup. Like the Saturn cars. Though the Saturns were under their own brand, but sold through Toyota dealers. Complete with RHD

>redline at 8500
>driven by soccermoms scared of going beyond 2500
poor thing
>>17724570
Only the GT/XRS got the 8500 RPM versions, which were FWD only.
AWD models redlined at 6800 RPM. And were automatic only.
