car took a shit while driving yesterday in the middle of the road, had to push it out of the way and luckily i had a trailerbro who was able to come pick it up. it was in the middle of an intersection and it just started sputtering and then died and wouldnt turn over.
before he came i did as much diagnosis as i could to see if i could find the issue
>checked for spark to the dizzy which i had
>checked related fuses which were ok
>listened for the pump to prime which it didnt but its possible the pump doesnt prime with the engine hot
>tried to find the pump relay but its behind a fucking b pillar or some shit according to the manual
so he picked me up and dropped it off and i went to bed. i just went out there 30 minutes ago and used a little 12v 5ah battery to power the pump directly. i ran it backwards for a while (on accident while trying to figure out the polarity), then i undid the last fuel line before the rail and ran it correctly to purge the air and hooked it back up, ran it off the battery again and it fired right up but ran rough like it was before it crapped out, hesitating and popping a lot and sounding like its only running on 4 out of 6 cylinders. i let it run until the temp started to show and went back and undid the battery and plugged it back into the harness and the pump was working and the engine smoothed out and revved up like normal. i turned if on and off a few times and unplugged and replugged the pump to see if anything changed but it runs just fine like it used to now.
im so fucking confused and have no idea what i could have possibly fixed and how to make sure it stays fixed. any ideas dudes?
