Why is it that tastefully modded (almost no outside cosmetics) late-nineties Honda Civics are sexy as fuck to me, but whenever I look on craigslist for any stock Hondas they look hideous? Is it just because of bad photography, or does a slight lowering make all the difference?

Its those few simple mods
I agree that there's just something magical about late-nineties Japanese cars.

Lowering and wheels choice, also the ones on craigslist might have wonky bumper mounting making the car look off maybe?

All about photography desu, just look how sexy this ef looks on the brochure
>>17714857
I'd say it looks pretty good even with no professional photography.
Stylistically Honda started going dowhill with the 6th gen.
cuz Civics have that sporty shitbox look and they dont need bodykits and shit to look good

>all about photography
lol no. The Civic EF hatch is literally one of the best looking civics
>>17714888
They're all pretty good until the 8th gen desu.

8th gen civic sedan (the si ) or the Type R trim that we never got in the US is literally the last good looking civic in my opinion.

>tfw no kanjo ef hatch
>>17715031
I meant 8th gen was when they got ugly.
9th is even worse and 10th is a fucking abomination.
Why is it that recently manufacturers have started trying to make their cars look edgy? Even the fucking Prius is doing it and it all looks horrendous.

I love this PHAT tyre look

same

Bumper mountings could be off, body paneling not lining up, all this little things can add up. Tires also play a huge part on overall looks. The one you post use what seems like performance tires on and a slightly lowered suspension.
